It should be mid 50s today.  However since we have a bunch of furniture in our garage I have had to park outside and I have had to scrape the windows on my car the past two days.   BLECH.

I would love to be scraping my car windows at this point. I will be shovelling my car out of its parking spot this evening.

We were having storms here, they seem to have calmed down.  I am not sure when they will return.

Nice autumn day. Walnut trees are about nude, liquid amber turning red, grasses turning to seed. Cloudy morning with nice arm afternoon sun but a bit chilly this evening.

It was a nice, rain-free day here in Seattle and we're supposed to have the same tomorrow.

In Seattle, a rain-free day is cause for celebration, no matter how small the celebration is. :-)

Ian - Perhaps you should keep the furniture outside?

Most of it will be back into the house here in another week or two.  We just have to finish a few things inside.  Then I can park my car in the garage again.   My wife won't be able to park her car int he garage, at least not till she gets the stuff out of her side of the garage like she said she would.

Today it was snowing while I was waiting for the bus with my son.

Ian - You mean she won't just take your side? Anonymous needs to take advantage of the situation better.

There was a ball of fire int he sky today.... it's still arctic and like a wasteland of death out there... but I did see that elusive ball of fire.

Aahz: I hope not, I leave for work before she does, and some nights I get home before she does.

Ian - that would make a difference I suppose.

We've got a ball of fire in the sky right now, but I hear a Nor'easter is coming.

It was cold this weekend, I am not sure it got above 40 at all this weekend.  We had sleet on Saturday, however we didn't get the 1 - 2" of snow.   Now this week it should be between 50 and 60.  We should expect more rain on Tuesday.

The ball of fire is back again today. If this continues the natives might start to get nervous and sacrifice snowmen to the dieties of their choice.

They're still cleaning up from the Nor'Easter around here. Drove up to Albany and back down today along the thruway. Amazing number of small communities that are still flooded. Just seeing it from the highway made me sad. In some cases they were right by a river so I wasn't suprised. The other cases though. That looked rough.

Aahz: I was wondering how you were doing up there.  I heard the news reports this morning.  Is the rain still falling or has it tapered off?

While I have a great deal of sympathy for those who have had their lives and property threatened or ruined by flooding, I have never been able to reconcile that with the profoundly broken logic of building in a flood plain. That's just silly.

I do agree that it is all the more disheartening when the flooding occurs outside of natrually at risk areas. At that point I pack up my things and wander off to the American Red Cross to volunteer time, energy, skills, and 2 more hands to help.

Yeah, that is something that I have never quite understood either.  There are two places in Indianapolis that I know of where I don't think I would buy a house.  Both of them are on the northside  of town.  One has a canal type thing that surrounds the area.  It has flooded in the past, and probably will again in the future.  Another place is right next to the White River, that area is right down next to the White river, to the point that the main street (Keystone) is about level with the tops of the 2 story houses.
