Heh, I was thinking 600 characters per second is pretty darned fast.
Bioware published a bunch of Star Wars games, so... the solution is
Right, but what did George Lucas have to do with those? =)
Can't wait for ME3 though.
For those of you without a lot of Wii experience -- in addition to the position and orientation input from the controllers, you also get an audio channel towards each controller which they use for per-player sound effects. I expect they will double down on this with the new system by adding lots of per-player video as well.
Even the old LucasFilmGames were better than todays Lucas' movies.
BTW: I finished King of Shred's and Patches, kind of nice, but often not very intuitiv parsing. Some things need to be described too complicated, some to easy. And still some bugs and oddities. Anyway, it was quite some fun.
Wait a tic... 'make' first age weapons?
Wouldn't that make them third-age-improved or something?
Canonically-speaking, that makes no sense. Not that it really has to, but...
How I wish we were on the same server... and if I could get my sister going on it as well, that would be nice.
Ah well... I've had fun with the staff and relic I have been working on. I recall managing to get a really nice pair of items some time ago, and have been working on levelling them up since then. They can both get to level 60, but are not quite there yet (I think maybe one of them is in the 40s).
I wish I hadn't run into the technical problems that knocked me off for over a year. Curse nVidia for making such crappy drivers for XP.
That is all
Has anyone played or is playing EVE Online? It looks interesting...but trying to install it is becoming quite tiresome. I wasn't able to get it installed via Wine under Mint. I had to boot up the other OS. I am in hour 7 of downloading and looking at another 10 hours. Not a good sign.
when chatting I can see how fast my gf types, and sche is fast.
I sometimes end up in trouble reading all she typed and reacting in time.
She's around 600 c/s, so she would be able to saturate the early telewriter lines.
I can't play this game anymore.
See if you can give it a shot. It requires a mouse. heh heh.
I just received a message from the EVE people...they suggest that I contact my ISP about the slow download speeds. This despite all the other complaints they get too.
However, I am having troubles at the moment. Internet speed test says I am getting 2.33 Mbps download and 2.53Mbps upload speed...so something is going on here. trying to isolate the problem. Should be getting somethiing reasonble close to 12 Mbps. At least that's what Comcast promises.
No first person point of view games for me in any way, shape or form.
What it should really do is pick up your chair and rotate you along with the screen. That would be cool.
There are lots of retro games where at least the engine is ported to support recent version of M$ operating systems or linux:
Ranotherworld -> Another World, Reminiscence -> Flashback (kind of a sequel to Another World), free clients for Dune 2 and Syndicate, Privateer Gemini Gold Openc2e for the Creatures series (although not yet fully functional). For most of them you need the original game files.
Then there are genuine gems like Cultivation (http://cultivation.sourceforge.net/), a really neat but small game.
PS: I got King of Shredded Potatoes running, the trick is to press Space directly on the first screen, where you can also scroll down by pressing arrow keys... I found Gargoyle to be a nice looking IF interpreter.
