emacs 22 is nice because they improved the Unicode support. I was using pre-22 alphas/betas for that reason. Guess I must not be an idiot because I didn't wait 8)

Boss: "What text editor are you using for that dhcp.conf file?"

Me: "vi"

Boss: "Oh, god, *that* beast?"

High School Student: "What's vi?"

Boss: "It's some text editor unix geeks love."

It might be useful to know that my boss doesn't know a damn thing about unix, and prefers to use Wordpad or Notepad if he's going to use a text editor.

That's interesting .How old is your boss?
Vi sucks in many ways and it is many things, but I would never have referred to it as a beast.
I'd think it's one of the more lightweight things left in the world.

I have plenty of perl source files in subversion that have CR's on the end of each line becasue the editor of choice around here is textpad.
