I'm with you there. I'm a news addict, usually catch the 9/10pm news, and
simpsons/family guy. Beyond that, i could live without a TV.

Cable and satellite are too expensive for more crap.

Now internet on the other hand, I can't go without that.

As such, I *am* better than television. I am impish madness in an undistilled format, not packaged for your entertainment, lacking corporate shrink-wrap.
I am here, and I am your sofa.

I'm an audio sci-fi geek. I have satellite for a few things - MLS, Sci-Fi's friday lineup, but little else. Big Finish, however, just has a lock on my wallet.

I loved the first half of the Doctor Who finale tonight on the Sci-Fi channel. Loved it so far, can hardly wait a week to see part two. :-)

I wonder if you would enjoy the "new" Doctor Who? series just as much if you had been brought up on all of the series that preceed it.

The visual effects can be marvilous, but I think there's something missing from this new stuff.

I wonder if it is possible to get most of the Dr. Who series on DVD.

I know you can't get them all; many of them were lost for one reason or another.

I haven't really had much of a chance to see the newer Dr. Who bits, short of that Flash animation one someone put up a long time ago.

I think David Tennent is a much more "traditional" Doctor than Eccleston (although it's been close to a year since I last saw the first new season). A bit lighter, a bit more eccentric, a bit more Scottish.

I loved Dr. Who very much when it was the BBC doing it and I still love it now with the Sci-Fi channel twists.

Not really any Sci-Fi Channel twists...it's a BBC production that SciFi is showing.

Although it's BBC Wales. Probably a good thing - sounds like they get to be top dog at the Cardiff studios.

Saw The Impossible Planet today - damn good, looking forward to next week.

I really liked the bit in the beginning of that one, when the scary octopus-like aliens' communicators were malfunctioning. :)
