Sad News. Actor James Duhan (sp?) who played the Chief Engineer for the Starship Enterprise on the TV show "Star Trek" has died. He lived in or near Redmond, Washington, a suburb of Seattle, Washington.

He will be missed.

doublethink: Same here, some really foul language indeed. Of course that lends background to the times. I really liked how Swearingen(sp?)'s character developed over the season from undeniably bad-guy to some redeeming qualities.
Particularly with the handicapped cleaning lady and preacher.

Excellent characterization. The sniveling hotel owner and barkeep are good too but Butler is a bit too good to believe.

Soooo, am I the only one who watched Hell's Kitchen?

Heh, no. I got suckered into it about midway through. I HATE the realityTV-style drama, but was still enthralled...

Sounds vaguely similar to "The Next Food Network Star" -- which was a big disappointment. The two twits who "won" were really annoying and didn't really cook all that well.

Maybe vaguely similar except that Food Network show didn't have Gordon Ramsey cursing and belittling people all the time.

It was wicked fun that show!

Hehe, I loved it, in a wicked guilty-pleasure sort of way.
Though really I liked Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares much better (and wish they would air more episodes...)

I was actually encouraged that the two people who should have been at it in the end WERE the two at it in the end and that the right person won.

but it was close.

Yes, it's true. well, I didn't really LIKE the guy who won (not since the lasagna incident), but he was definitely the right person to win. Ramsey seems to be a seriously honest person, whatever else his faults.

Bleach! There are good Musketeer movies, then there are terrible ones - one that tries to mix Muskeers with Once Upon a Time in China is the a later one.

If you want a good series of Musketeer movies that actually is pretty close to the books, tries the late 70s/early 80s series with Olive Reed (which I'm told I look like).

Ohhhh yes, The Musketeer was DREADFUL. Kung fu rapier! Chuck E Cheese animatronic acting! I saw a press preview of it for free, and still felt I paid too much.

Still have a soft spot for the Disney version, with Tim Curry and Rebecca de Mornay in it - it's still corny, but in a good way.

The Disney one was great..

"Would you like some champagne?'
"We're in the middle of a chase."
"Oh.. Right.. Red wine for a chase."

Agree - the Disney one had a good "feel". Very little to do with the actual books, but a fun movie nonetheless; same with "Man In The Iron Mask."
