Amen. The first two were tripe. Complete crap.

I know what they say, that when we were kids we had a different opinion, and that the movies were just as bad, but it's just not true. The original 3 were pretty damned good (even though Jedi was kinda fruity)....Ep I, and II just plain sucked.

Just get the crapfest over with so Natalie Portman can go film the sequel to "The Professional" (aka "Leon")

Right on IG! The only draw to Ep III is Natalie, for me anyway.

Yeah, she was the draw for the first two. But everyone dies in Ep. III, so it can't be all that bad :) I just hope George got the love story out of his system with Ep. II.

Anakin won't. Neither will Kenobi. Neither will Palapatine <sp> .  Or Yoda. Or R2-D2 or C-3po. Didn't you watch the original Star Wars?

TECHNICALLY Anakin will. Didn't you watch the original Star Wars? ;)

Yes, yes. (grin)  It'll had better be good. Lucas is pissing a lot of people off. The first three of his Star Wars movies may have brought him legnedary status, and power, but his last 2 are not doing him any favours.

imagine how different life would be if jar jar had been invented in 1977...

so... do you thingk they're going to make 7, 8 and 9?

Nope. Lucas already has said that these will be it. He's afraid he'll be dead before the others can be completed and doesn't want to start that project.

Maybe after he dies someone else will step up, but that's the way it stands now.

After he dies, whoever ends up with the rights to the franchise *will* make the last three movies -- and maybe more after that. They wouldn't pass up an obvious money-making opportunity.

I think the reason Lucas doesn't want to start the last 3 is that he
admitted that he'd never bothered to write them.

Acutally I thought I had heard a rumor that there were tralks about making the last three with lucas just kinda overseeing the projects. Something about them also being mostly computer generated too, not like the current fare isn't.

I read an article in CNN several months back that was an actual interview with him where he stated he was afraid he'd die before the last 3 could be completed. *shrug*

"No wonder Peter "Chewbacca" Mayhew is smiling. Not only has he been rescued
from obscurity and given the chance to reprise his role as our Wookiee comrade
for Episode III, but his contract also stipulates that he'd be required to
appear in Episodes 7, 8, and 9.

But reading on, it appearst that Mayhew debunked this himself. *sigh*
Another rumor that I didn't get the update on.

Episode II really wasn't *that* bad. I don't know that I'd rate it below Episode VI.

It wasn't bad at all. If you go back and watch the original movies with an adult eye, you'll see they weren't that good.

I wantch them fairly regularly, and yes, they aren't all that good from a
number of angles. However, the story and the characters were great. I can't
say the same for eps 1 & 2.

I think the big problem with Star Wars and The Matrix is the creators became obsessed with how big a universe they could create....
