I watched the movie when it came out.. loved it, but never expected the series to be any good. (must admit, few series do the movie justice)  SO I've skipped watching the movies until recently.   A few weeks ago there was nothing to watch and I just happend to land on a SG-1 and watched...  I must admit that I was wrong, and the series is actually very well writen for the most part.  I'm not addicted.

I'm a Stargate SG-1 fan as well. Much to my wife's chagrin. Luckily, we've got a DVR, so I can record the episodes and watch 'em later when I can have the TV to myself. :)

My wife watches Stargate SG-1 with me. It is about the only TV I watch on a close to regular basis.

A while back (ok January), it was mentioned about "The Tomorrow People", turns out that a company in England has made Audio plays based on the tomorrow people.
They also have done some Doctor Who based radio shows too.

I picked up Gallifrey this weekend, (well two of the 4 discs), and it was very good. Now to get the other 2. But while I was on the guy's website I saw they had Tomorrow people CDs also.

Just finished rereading "Time Enough For Love." Do so every 7 or so years.
TEFL is the best sf ever written. Also reveals that Robert Heinlein is a tit man.

Subject: weird costumes

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Perhaps these Larp events can be tried out on mascots. After all, some of those costumes are weird, and it would add a new touch to 'mascot games.' And of course, those suits are usually well padded so no one would be injured. I just saw a Lochaber axe, which gave me the inspiration for the above idea.

omg bestest series evar!

or something like that.

I really enjoyed firefly - some very funny dialogue, top quality acting (even from the randoms) and a quirky cast that you actually care about. I particularly enjoy the interaction between Mal and Jayne, there's some blokey level of understanding between them.

So, anyone who's not seen it, I give it 3 pseudopods up!

Agreed on Firefly. I'd heard of it but never seen it, and my wife saw it while I was at basic and bought the series for me on DVD. VERY entertaining, very funny, and fairly compelling characters and dialog. I have high hopes for the movie.

Agreed - damn fine series. The commentary on the DVDs is great, because they do a nice job of just letting you know the mental processes of the people who made it. Nummy stuff.

Wish I'd read this thread earlier; it was in my gold box at amazon and I thought about getting it but didn't.
Of course, I'm broke right now, so it's probably best this way
