At the time, it didn't grip me that way.

It's only in my mind's eye, looking back, that I sort of see it that way.

That's how the Federation / Klingon conflict ended, if I remember correctly. Good thing the Romulans were around.

The Tomorrow People and The Third Eye were *both* aired on Nickelodeon, at least during the mid-1980's.

I did not have Nickelodeon accessible to me during the mid-1980's. I saw The Third Eye on public television, with Doctors In The House.

I thought it ended because the klingons nearly blew themselves up.

I remember having keep a journal in second grade. "My favorite shows are The Tomorrow People and The Third Eye."
Wasn't there a labyrinth they had to walk?

Man, I was a geek even at the age of seven. But Tash digs Buffy and the Tribe, so it's not me. I guess it's the fantasy aspect of it all.

I thought the Organian Treaty put an end to their fighting (Klingons / Federation).

Did they start up again after that?

Ally: Oh, man. Yeah, "Into The Labyrinth" was one of the serials. I seem to recall one about a stone circle, too.

Arjay: Re: "The Third Eye"

I remember watching three of the serials from "The Third Eye": "Into the Labyrinth", "Under the Mountain", and the one you mentioned involving the stone circle.

I wish I could get copies of them, even if just for nostalgia's sake.

t, a month after you asked we started watching the tripods for real. we watched the first 3 episode last night. it made much more sense than this condensed version i'd seen. now i have to re-read the books to check for authenticity...

Nice! How are they?

I've heard mixed reviews; I've read a few that says the series sucked, and
a friend of mine grew up with it (in Isreal, I don't think they ewre
actually on here, though I could be wrong) who still really loves it to this
day.

If they're good, I'll order them as well.

I don't remember, have you read the prequel (I think the title is "When the
Tripods Came")?

The Tripods was on PBS in Central Wisconsin right after Doctor Who, on Sundays.
At least it was when I was 10 - 13 or so.

well, i started rereading the books last night. i would say that there are some differences but the series gets the concept (so if it's a long time since you read the books or vice versa, it wouldn't bother you, unless you're a purist).

before getting the dvds i hadn't seen the series, just this 2 hour condensed thing made from the series. i think it's good and i'm happy with it. the $40 i dropped on the hackable player, well, sometimes you kind of get what you pay for. the player's fine except when the sound randomly cuts out. if you pause and go back a few seconds the sound will be back. it's only happened twice over the hours we've used it. (so far less flaky than trying to use a ps2 as your primary dvd player, but we don't need to use it as our primary dvd player).

Subject: Star Trek Paintball LARP

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey Star Trek fans of the New York and Northern New Jersey area. I am a member of a ship that joins a large group of people twice a year to play a live action Star Trek paintball game. We are looking for people to join us to play (even if they have only a small interest in either Star trek or paintball). This next game is during the weekend of May 14th - 16th, and it is played in the Poconos in PA. Most people playing stay for the weekend, including our ship. Some of us go to college in New Paltz and the rest live in Rockland County, so people can follow us from either place to PA or meet us there (car pooling maybe posible). Cost and more specific info available upon request. Please feel free to e-mail with questions or if interested. Contact Gerhardt at StarTrekClub@hotmail.com
P.S. I know I have talked about this with some of the Non-human Student Organization members about this at a club in Poughkeepsie.
