By the way, when Pac-Man came to the U.S. from Japan, it was called Puck-Man (presumably because the main character resembles a yellow hockey puck). Unfortunately, American gamers were fond of scratching out a strategic portion of the "P", so the name was changed.

Quag: the quote refers to subterranean gelologic structures, which are analogous to certain underwater phenomena. In particular, Diapirs are "fingers" of one material or phase which protrude into another layer. The capitalized names Urquhart and Scuzzy refer to specific named geological features.
Plutons are large masses of rock that cooled from magma melts while well below the surface.

Pietas: Are you sure that quote referred to solgers? I thought it referred to Folger's Coffee. Historians have confirmed that Cervantes was in the habit of holding wet coffee grounds and waxing philosophical over them. It was probably all that caffeine.
