It's 1980 all over again.  I am officially declaring anyone who is anti-Trump to also be anti-Reagan, and will categorically IGnore any denials of this.

Your fan boy attitude as gone from barely funny to sad... very sad.  Reagan was a former union leader who grew state and federal governments. He spent on both the state and federal levels like crazy former democrat high on nationalism .

Fair enough, but once again I have yet to see you propose an alternative to Reagan/Trump other than defeatism.  If you have a better (and plausible) idea then run it up the flagpole!

I am not suggesting defeatism. Trump is no Reagan, Trump is whoever he needs to be to get what he needs. You even admitted that when confronted with how much he donates to the democrats.  The political system is phuqued, the biggest problem is the citizens are dumb enough to think some candidate cares about them, and will do something for them or to improve the country.

Trump or any other candidate is not going to change anything.

We could run an anarchist for President, the city of Lake Worth Florida elected a anarchist for its council, when she held office she wasn't much of an anarchist.

We shall see.  If Trump accomplishes 1% of what he says he will, it'll be a big improvement over what we have now.  And if Hitlery wins, the blame for the final downfall of USA will fall squarely upon the Cruzbots and Bushoids who failed to rally behind him.

I'm voting for Trump out of pragmatism.

I strongly disagree with your lumping Cruz in withe the rest.

As for Cruz losing over his ideals, that may be. Maybe not. We will see.

It's just sad that we're left with Trump, who is really in place because of open primary states, where Democrats crossed lines in order to vote for the candidate least likely to win.

He's a carnival barker. Do I like him on a few things? Yes, he's strongly against illegal immigration, and he seems to understand currency manipulation better than anyone.

The American experiment is done. I mourn her passing, not so much for myself, but for my children and future grandchildren.

There you go again ... perpetuating the myth that Trump is getting the nomination because democrats are voting for a crypto-democrat in open primaries.

Trump won 19 states with closed primaries. Cruz and Bush combined won only 8.

A carnival barker is just what we need right now. Wouldn't it be great to have a leader who cheerleads for America instead of touring the world apologizing for made-up atrocities?

No, I don't think they're voting for a crypto-democrat, I think they're voting to intentially weaken the Republican ticket.

And yes, I'd love to have a leader who puts America first.

I just don't think that Trump is the right guy for that.

I get the Hillary hatred. I get feeling stuck that you're between
criminal and a liar.

But blind support of Trump is nothing short of dangerous. The man is

an admitted chameleon. I have to give Bernie credit. At least he
admits he's a socialist.

Ragnar you don't seem to get this: IG's been supporting Trump since the beginning. He's not in this just because Trump is the lesser evil than Clinton. This is positive support. For reasons that elude me, but positive support nonetheless.

You're certainly not changing any minds here.

If you browse through my eBay feedback profile [] you will see that I supported Trump in 2012 as well. (And I ended up voting for Mitt Cruz Romney, because he was still a better option than that idiot Gary Johnson who wants the USA to have sharia law.)

Uhhh ... what happened to the last 14 months of messages in this room? I don't remember hiring Hillary Clinton to do my server maintenance.

Now I've got to figure out whether this is related to the database repair I did over the weekend or if some misbehaving user-agent on my part did it.

Well, it's not as if we lost a lot of meaningful discussion anyway. I'll summarize the election discussion so far:

* Hitlery Cunton == 100% evil, 100% globalist, deserves to die slowly (but before November) and painfully.
* Bernie Sanders == batshit insane
* Ted Cruz == the second coming of George W. Bush, 100% owned and operated by Goldman Sachs
* Donald Trump == our next president in any scenario not involving the final destruction of the United States as we know it.

Damn, I was hoping I just woke up from a terrible nightmare that Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders were running for President and people like Hillary enough to make her the nominee.

You mean it wasn't just a horrible dream?

Best comment I've heard since Bernie Sanders revealed himself to be the Ted Cruz of the democrats by endorsing Hitlery:

"When small grassroots donors and Goldman Sachs finally team up for the greater good, they're #StrongerTogether!"

Except Bernie said from the start that he would endorse her if she won enough delegates.

Even back in April he was saying so.

"“Sure I will,” he said, when pressed by CBS News’ Charlie Rose in an interview. “Look, as I said a million times, I think the idea of a Donald Trump or a Ted Cruz presidency would be an unmitigated disaster for this country. I will do everything in my power and work as hard as I can to make sure that that does not happen. And if Secretary Clinton is the nominee, I will certainly support her.”"

Well, there's Bernie and then there's Bernie supporters. I don't think they recall him saying that, all they heard was "free everything" and "riot" and "legal pot"

If all they wanted was a democrat plus legalized pot, they could vote for the Libertarian Party. That's essentially all they really are. That's essentially why I stopped voting for them. Even though I'm in favor of drug legalization, the LP just isn't a pragmatic vehicle for libertarian politics.

Although I do wish I could rescind my vote for Mitt Bush Cruz Romney. What an asshole that guy turned out to be.
