Because libruls mostly protest book signing these days. That's why. There's really nothing else as offensive as a book signing.

I'm still totally in the tank for Trump, but if Carson wins the presidency I'm going to enjoy the next 4 or 8 years calling liberals racists. "You just don't like that policy because you're a racist who hates our black President!"

Especially true since Carson, unlike Obama, is 100% Black!

Ok, new topic.

What's the deal with the Trans-Pacific Partnership, TPP aka ObamaTrade?

Specifically, what is the upside for the US, and why would *any* of our politicians want to support it? It seems like a one-sided deal that does nothing other than export more jobs offshore. Are they just being brazenly obvious about surrendering our soverignty to the NWO, or is there some hidden upside I'm not seeing?

the upside is, that us lawyers can then pull european goverments to private courts of arbitration, and extract money from european goverments as they right now can do with canada.

Right now it seems to have become common practice to sell shares for these... with a ROI of 1:3 if they win.

So its sort of a bet.

These deals are never saleable politically unless they include at least *some* carrot, at least *some* reciprocity. I don't know whether it's enough to make it a good deal for us. I do have a vague impression thata lot of this is centered around opening up foreign markets for American commodity and farm products. Food exports are great until other countries challenge the legality of our farm subsidies at the WTO level. We had to bribe Brazil to withdraw that complaint...

if we get a good deal mainly for low-value exports I would worry about what that means for the higher-value sectors of our economy

Well, if the biggest Republican backer of the TPP (Marco "I am owned by Zuckerberg" Rubio) gets his way, there won't *be* any higher-value sectors of our economy.

And that's the piece I don't get, why is it that R's rather than D's (yes I know, they're all the same, yada yada) are backing *this* particular Obamination?

Because Free Trade is a big part of GOP ideology. And it used to be part of Clintoncrat ideology as well, until the Dem left-wing got in love with the Sanders-Warren viewpoint

It must be incredibly frustrating as an Islamic terrorist not to have your views and motives taken seriously by the societies you terrorize, even after you have explicitly and repeatedly stated them. Even worse, those on the regressive left, in their endless capacity for masochism and self-loathing, have attempted to shift blame inwardly on themselves, denying the terrorists even the satisfaction of claiming responsibility. It’s like a bad Monty Python sketch:

“We did this because our holy texts exhort us to to do it.”

“No you didn’t.”

“Wait, what? Yes we did…”

“No, this has nothing to do with religion. You guys are just using religion as a front for social and geopolitical reasons.”

“WHAT!? Did you even read our official statement? We give explicit Quranic justification. This is jihad, a holy crusade against pagans, blasphemers, and disbelievers.”

“No, this is definitely not a Muslim thing. You guys are not true Muslims, and you defame a great religion by saying so.”

“Huh!? Who are you to tell us we’re not true Muslims!? Islam is literally at the core of everything we do, and we have implemented the truest most literal and honest interpretation of its founding texts. It is our very reason for being.”

“Nope. We created you. We installed a social and economic system that alienates and disenfranchises you, and that’s why you did this. We’re sorry.”

“What? Why are you apologizing? We just slaughtered you mercilessly in the streets. We targeted unwitting civilians – disenfranchisement doesn’t even enter into it!”

“Listen, it’s our fault. We don’t blame you for feeling unwelcome and lashing out.”

“Seriously, stop taking credit for this! We worked really hard to pull this off, and we’re not going to let you take it away from us.”

“No, we nourished your extremism. We accept full blame.”

“OMG, how many people do we have to kill around here to finally get our message across?”

Evidently there is too much similarity between the words "Islami" and "Salami."

Quite frankly, I prefer Genoa Salami ... in all of its wonderful non-halal goodness.  In the words of Emeril Lagasse, pork fat rules!
