A weekend with cats... sneezing;MOPI#N% sleeping, a mess. Now my chest has picked up a congestion problem. Pets, bah.

I've got a bigger fish, and a smaller one, and an even smaller one, and a few that are in the middle too...

So, anyone out there know how cats react to mid life declawings? (around 2-3 years of age when they're declawed)

I've officially had enough of my cats clawing things.

Just get the front paws declawed. They'll adjust to it.

... and if not, they'll simply paw you to death. :)

Actually WS, after last night, I'm thinking all four paws each. I probably won't be thinking such once I calm down though.

Most cats only get their front ones done. The back ones are only used for traction, and not usually active clawing.

Correct.

Also, not that it matters since I doubt Jack will be showing his cats, but most cat registries will not even let declawed household pets be shown, let alone purebreds.

WS: Correct. I will not be showing my cats.

Cat: You don't know my cats. Particularly my little one.

Jack, it's still not a real good idea to do a total declaw. Front paws are usually sufficient.

That depends, greatly, on the cat and its outside habits.

I have a cat that has no claws left, at all...and he's fine.
