Go for fish. Oh sure you can't pet a fish (well you can, but would you want to?), but they are nice to watch, really relaxing I find.

I would like to have a pet, but I can't afford one. The food don't cost much, but if you have a pet, you have to take them to the Vets when they are ill.
Some people just dump their dogs and cats when they get sick, That is just not right!

Ian, you entered that last message wile I was doing mine. We had a fish that would let my son "pet" him. Scott would put his hand in the water and the fish would swim thour his fingers, and around just like a cat.

It ok, I'm not sure I want to have a pet anyway, which is a good thing since I have no real choice in the matter. :)

There is always the pet rock. What ever happen to them?

I used to have a little flat rock that someone had painted on one side "Turn Me Over" and the other side said "Thanks."

Naming pets, what a quaint idea. Goldfish can't hear the name so why bother?
Cats won't come when you call them, so they don't need a name. Dogs come whenever you call no matter what name you use, so what's the point. This thought for the day brought to you by the letter P and the number 3.

My cat comes when we call him. Stop being deliberately provocative.

My cats come when I call (not always, but most of the time), they even are trained to come when I whistle. It is funny, they only come to my whistle, others they ignore. It only took a week to train my son's two kittens to also come when I call or whistle. It is real easy, you call them and whistle when you feed them.

Natalie: What? You want me to be accidentally provocative instead? So sorry, but if you want to take what is blatantly obviously a tongue-in-check post and find it "provocative", thatís YOUR problem not mine. My god! If the comments didnít clue you in, how could you think it was anything but a silly post when it ended with "This thought for the day brought to you by the letter P and the number 3."

I have no intention of trying to guess when someone will choose to take needless offense at some silly off the cuff comment. I post what I think as I think it, if this was some sort of serious debate or discussion then I would either post something that fit that or not post at all, but this was not. In fact, there was nothing being said in here at all. I donít know who stuffed a broom up your ass, but Iím here to have fun and Iím not about to let you or anyone else tell me how to post when there is nothing to be disrupted.

well, as this is a room about pets, i suppose that it's a fitting place to talk about my over 100 goldfish. Anyone looking for a baby goldfish?
