http://homepage.mac.com/ryan42/synthvid.mp4 -- Work safe
Could be the coolest synth mess-around vid you'll see all day. This was shot a week ago when it was 29 in texas and I had come in from outside... so some of the slides and stuff is a little screwy because I'm partially numb. I was messing around with a Yamaha EX5 just showing various (about 3) sounds on it.

I had 'Sweet Gypsy Rose' stuck in my head for two days.

What an awful tune.

oU812-yum-ifucnrdthsur2cls-swlabr-

The significance is that you are either receiving text messages from teenagers, or email from Indians.

And yet, despite having been able to read that, I can't understand Perl.

only because nobody's forced you yet...
Certainly I've mentioned the story how at some point in 2002 I decided I was going to try to learn perl, so I did a mkdir ~/perl and I got a file exists error.
I look a look and sure enough I had the same idea sometime in 1997. It didn't work in 1997 and it didn't work in 2002. The only time you (or somebody like you, me) learn perl is when we are forced to.
my two cents.

Yeah, I've made an effort to study it, in times past. It simply hasn't been worth the effort.

Forced to, I'm sure I could figure out enough of it to get the job done, whatever the job... but I'd be awfully tempted to migrate the code to something legible.

You can color me crazy as you like, but for some reason, right now, I want to
see William Shatner's redoux of "Rocket Man" on Saturday Night Live.
(don't link me to the "you tube" videos. that is not what I'm talking about)

hours a day since the flood. You all should see Mamaroneck. There
was army personel everywhere, and with everyones basements being
shoveled out to the lawn it really looks like a war zone. People

i thought mamaroneck was always like that :)

Dream Theater r0x0rs but I still enjoy listening to Rush. Maybe it's because I started late and wasn't subjected to the kind of repetition that turns people off for life. (I had a similar experience -- a college roommate who listened to U2 almost continuously. It got old pretty fast.)
