I love how Van Morrison says the word "danish".

Fleetwood Mac has this song on their Tusk album that I doubt was very popular.

_Save Me A Place_

It has this experimental feel to it.. like the group was trying something out.

The choral work, though, is incredible.. at least to me. You have them emphasize (via length of time) this dissonant chord that winds up sounding soo sweet.
The weird thing is, it sound sweet during the dissonance... not the resolution (which is where it normally sounds sweet). Here, the resolution is almost understated... kind of like they grudgingly resolved the dissonance because it's simply expected.

This song could have been really big, if they had just gone somewhere with it.

Sorry Bucky got voted off, Pete... But still, he's going to be touring with the whole cast, around the country, I think - Which is very cool. I still think he's talented enough to get a recording career on his own...

remember "bill gates must die." by john vanderslice?
I found another funny song by him: "me and my 424."
It would be funnier if it was a rap song, but that's not his style.
It's about a tascam model 424 multitrack recorder.
He makes me laugh.

yeah, chinese democracy. I guess it's finally sorta close to done maybe in the next 5 years.

Of course, this band is really Axl Rose and some random guys...

yeah, I heard a bit a few years ago and it wasn't pleasant at all.
but apparently he's still got a big following.

apparently he has been doing shows now and then. I don't know if I'm gonna bother.

today's presale is sold out.

other upcoming events:

gogol bordello, irving plaza
coldcut w/ blockhead and some random dj's, irving plaza

I like Coldcut but some of their stuff is umm experimental. Hit and miss.
gogol bordello I've heard good things about - eastern euro style dance-rock. they seem to be picking up a following.

I'm still waiting for Vitaly Chernobyl and the Meltdowns to make an appearance...

Unless one of them is Slash, the act really ought to just be called "Axl Rose and some Random Guys."

frequently zonked on heroin but undeniably technically proficient. they had to cart slash into concerts with a gang of roadies. He was removed at the end of each concert and placed in cryogenic storage because they couldn't allow the precise blend of drugs in his system to be metabolized, it would mess up his ability...

I was wondering how axl ended up with the name. I remember hearing once a story that slash actually died in a hotel somewhere, he was only technically dead for a few minutes or so before somebody shot him with adrenalyn or something like that.
But that's gotta be weird.

"Axl Rose" is an anagram of "Oral Sex." Rose is his real last name by birth (from his real, not adoptive, father.)

Yeah, the name on his birth certificate is "William Bruce Rose, Jr."

oh, heh what I meant was how he ended up with the name 'guns n roses' and not slash or the drummer guy.
But anyway, that's good trivia that any GNR fan should know.
Now... without looking it up, does anybody know slash's real name? initials are SH.

I just realized that I *really* like _A Whiter Shade Of Pale_, as a tune.
What an amazing piece of music.

I'm listening to Sarah Brightman singing it right now, which is kind of weird.
I'd rather hear the original, but even this isn't bad. I wonder who could really ruin this song.
