Kraftwerk is playing the Greek Theatre here in LA too, 6/6.  I'm seriously considering going.

If you have any interest whatsoever, I think you should go. They rarely
play, especially here. And, it's Kraftwerk,

A new software synth automatically corrects equal temperment chords to just
intonation. Very cool. Samples on the site.

This was inevitable.

Just intonation just sounds better.

Hell yeah it does. I'm glad somebody did this; it's been on my list of
long-term projects to write.

I may try my hand at drum lessons later this year. I also may be practicing in the park due to living in a townhouse. The class is part of the North American Academy of Piping & Drumming. If anyone here is interested, the site is naapd.org . I've never had the knack for bagpipes.

I tried playing bagpipes once. I couldn't quite grasp the rhythm of breathing into a sack and maintaining regular pressure while playing the thing. It's a very awkward feeling instrument. But, I only attempted it once... perhaps if I practiced, I'd eventually get into the swing of things.

But then I'd almost have to paint little pictures of howling cats on the bagpipes.

Decision made today:  Going to Kraftwerk 6/6, eschewing Blues Brothers (new House of Blues in San Diego) 5/21.

Sounds like a good call. If it were the original Blues Brothers, you'd have
a much tougher choice on your hands, I think.

Today's earworm is from Crosby, Stills, and Nash.

Whiskey Boot Hill/Down Down Down/Country Girl (or the Country Girl Medley).

In particular, I'm stuck on the Country Girl part of the medley. At least I like it.

I find this interesting. Maybe I'm the only one. Who knows.

I've been listening to alot more music than normal for the past couple
of months. Of course, some songs just make me "feel" better than
others.

I decided to pick out the songs that make me feel this way. I find out
that they're not necessarily great songs, just that I like to listen to
them and it improves my mood.

Figuring that music pulls out emotions in us from the past, and that
songs that make us happy probably remind us of happy times in our life,
I decided to look up when these songs first came out and I find that
they're all around the same time. 1981 and 1982.

I know that that time in my life was alot of fun, but it was just
interesting to see how the music brought it back for me.

One in particular, Back on the Chain Gang, could probably get me in a
good mood no matter what was going on in my life.

Must have listened to it during a particularly good part of life. My
memories with that song include alot of camping on the Mogollon Rim in
Arizona. Something I loved to do.
