Battlefield Earth.. A good book completely destroyed by idiots in Hollywood.

How about changing that proposition so that someone has to pay you to watch a movie again. I think I'd have to hold out for about $10,000 to be forced to watch "Unbreakable" again.

Kingpin. I can't imagine someone offering me enough money for me to sit through that one again.

harry: I like your proposition better; hopefully we don't ever have to pay to *not* watch something. And given the diminishing quality of Hollywood's output these last few years, it's about time that "Pay Per View" started to mean that *they* pay *us* !

That being said, I continue to assert that the worst movie of all time is "Mr. Holland's Opus" -- and yes, it would probably take about $10,000 to get me to watch it.

Oooohhhh... that girthta even chimed in with anything reminds me of these movies she rented for us to watch that involved female mud wrestling. I think I'd never want to see those videos again.

Hmmm? Seems I've become confused with Harry. My name's Will Anderson. I do know Harry, though, and have been a regular on his Harry's HOuse BBS for more years than I can remember, probably since sometime in the 80s.

If you ever saw us together you wouldn't have trouble telling us apart. OR if you ever discussed religion with us you would find our perspectives as different as our physical appearances.

It was Harry who turned me on to the board, so I subscribed, thinking it was another local Seattle board. After learning that you guys are on the east coast I've not checked in too often, but do drop by from time to time just to see what's been posted.

I was a movie nut back in the 60s. I'm not sure Harry was even born then.

I don't recall the name.  But it had very overweight, naked ladies of questionable taste wrestling each other in the mud.

Saw Hard Candy on Monday - a friend of mine brought me the DVD a while back, and since Eli was working festival, it seemed a good time to watch it. Ellen Page did a marvelously good job being a sympathetic psychopath. Rather glad I didn't watch it before bed, though.

I saw doom.
You gotta wonder why they make movies like this.
It's so dumb. It's not even good at being dumb, it's just dumb.
And yes, there's actually a sequence where they do the first person shooter thing.

Well, me and Jaime just got home from "Across the Universe". It was pretty good. On one hand, I was not blown away by it, and I was hoping to be blown away by it. So that was dissapointing. On the other hand, considering the difficulty of what they were trying to do with it, it could have easily been REALLY bad. And it was actually pretty good. So that was an accomplishment.
Not exactly super deep and they played it kinda fast and loose with history, but overall I enjoyed it.

Really?  I can't imagine wanting to watch a movie based on a book you're forced to read in high school.  I can't think of a single person who read Beowulf of his own volition.

Then I suppose you won't be dashing to the theater next summer to see the new big-budget spectacular called "Catcher in the Rye"
