Going nuts, actually. Trying to buy a house and not having any luck. Meanwhile, living in a 2 bedroom apartment with five people, a cat, and all our stuff packed up in the basement. For the last six months. And three of the five want to dress as princesses all the time, shout "No!" and "You never let me doing anything!" when not peeing on the floor or stealing my cookies.

Otherwise fine. Mostly.

I understand. I don't have the princess thing, but I get the "No" and "You never let me do/have/buy anything" bits all the time.

I hear that they eventually grow out of it...but with my daughter, it required a "You're packing everything but your clothing into these tubs, will live without it all, and will earn it back a little at a time" to get her head out of her butt.

Of course, once she finally got all of her stuff back, she went off the deep end, stuck her head right back into her rear end again, and now she's gone from bad situation to bad situation to bad situation...and we've pretty much washed our hands of it.

Yikes. That's what I've got in store for me? How old is she? I thought they were difficult at 4 ... doomed, I'm doomed...

She's 22, now. She was just shy of 13 when she came to us, so you're probably in better shape that we were.

You do the best you can, right? I've been focused so much on the small day-to-day toddler struggles that I don't think I've even thought about all the trouble they'll be able to get into when they're older. Hope she's going okay.

That's exactly right. You do what you can and hope that they've learned the lessons you've tried to teach them.

Not riding as much as I would like.  I need to get my ass in gear, going to attempt the Tour de Cure in about 100 days.  Otherwise, I'm currently looking for work. So if anyone needs a photographer, or IT work, let me know....

I know of someone in Philly looking to place a Unix engineer in south Jersey. I know of a potential Oracle gig here in Fishers. Whatcha lookin' for?

Nesting gets insane after a while :)

Oracle is beyond me.  South Jersey... only if the job can be 99% remote.  We have NO interest in moving back to the Eastern NY/NJ area.

I would prefer to jump careers and go full time photography, but the money just isn't there unless one moves to a celeb area and goes freelance/paparazzi. Asset lifecycle management / IMAC coordination, project management (not certified, but interested) is fine. I'm trying to get away from the hands on tech work.  I can do tech support, but the enthusiasm is completely gone.
