Bleah...storm blew through here, and then we lost power 10 minutes later.

That sucks. I need to invest in a better UPS. The one APC I have was bought at a charity thrift shop.

The ones I have, apparently, don't last very long.

Maybe they need new batteries ??

Not very old...I'd hope that they would last longer. I probably just need higher capacity UPSs.

Well, Yeah. The more stuff you have connected to it, the more amps or watts they draw, then the faster the battery wears out.

How much stuff you got plugged into it ??

If it's the one I think it is, my server, my firewall (both PC class systems), my WAP and my router (both with small DC adapters). I don't recall the capacity of the UPS, though.

If they are APC branded, might not APC.Com have the specs for it ??

I found this page:

http://www.apc.com/products/category.cfm?id=13&segmentID=1

which is a lead-in to their UPS'es.

They're not. I forget what brand they are (I check it out and probably look them up)...it's just been so long since we had a power outage that it's all been pretty transparent.

New kernel for popping...Orville would be so proud.

System will reboot at 1AM ET, Friday, May 4.

Guess I missed it. Oh well.

What's new about the kernel ? (Just curious)

Good question.  Not sure.  Fedora released it for update, so I did.

I've been too busy, lately, to read all the technotes that might come with the updates.

System will be on auto-pilot for a few days, while I attend my kid brother's bachelor party.

Enjoy.
