Or perhaps a treatise on the Peruvian Gods, who wield lightning that kills people and knocks down trees!!

Okay I have a bone to pick with Spell and Aahhz!  Awhile back you recommend the Dresdan files as good books to read!  I have since become an addict and just finished all 12 books - now I have to wait until July for the new book to come out. :( Any suggestions how to fulfill my literary leanings until then? I don't want to resort to eye candy (beach books) from now until July.

Seriously guys - thanks -they were good reads!

hehehehe.. Yes. Dresden stuff is great fun. The dialog and character development was really well done. I've read some of Butcher's other stuff and liked it qutie a bit. This includes the Codex ALera series whcih I definitely would list as some good stuff. Trying to remember other books by him and coming up empty at the moment.

I know how you feel, boo-boo. I've been reading the new Thomas Convenant books by Stephen R. Donaldson. I recently finished the latest, "Against All Things Ending," but the next book isn't due out until 2012!

In the meantime, I'm catching up on some Terry Brooks stuff that I've had sitting around for a while.

I've been re-reading Sherlock Holmes stories, thanks to Project Gutenberg and my Mom's Nook Color.

On the beer front, I find myself in Oahu going to class on swing shift for two weeks, so I have time in the day to hit the Kona Brewing Co. pub (and probably some beaches and museums and stuff, I imagine).  Anything else I should be looking for while I'm here?

Loved the Dresden books, too - good fun; good pick.

Sig, if you like Holmes, you could try a little Nero Wolf (rex stout), also; it's a little lighter than Sherlock, but just as interesting.

(I'd write a little more about what the story is about, but it might ruin it for you, so I shall not).

It is a sad day. The efforts to rescue Borders has failed, and they will be closing all of their stores.

I wish it were Barnes and Noble that was closing instead. I never liked them. Borders was my favorite bookstore. And the sad part is that they were the second largest bookstore chain in the US, so for them to be closing is a profound statement on the state of the economy right now.

I used to buy media at Borders, but I haven't been buying much lately.

Now... they're going away. A shame, but I have rarely gone to that store in the past several years. I guess I'm part of their problem, heh.

I'm part of a lot of people's problems (go ahead, roll with that one ... ok, now ...). I don't buy a lot of books. I don't buy much of anything.

Shouldn't have abandoned that self-storage unit... :)
