Silver bat, what time does that run? Perhaps you can hightail it back to where ever we end up after the fireworks....

I do volunteer my place for after fireworks partying/gaming etc if people want. It does have animals, so if allergic, that might not be a good idea.

The show starts at 7, and I'll need to be there a while before, as its general admission. There are 3 bands playing, I believe, so I imagine its going to take a bit.

The 30th of August looks okay to me thus far.

Yes...yes it is.

I have to admit, I was too young to attend any of the runs when I lived in Minnesota, and I haven't seen anything about one happening now that I'm back.

After I moved to Tennessee, I was pretty regular at the BiMBoS (Beta Mountain Benevolent Society) get-togethers.

*counts in head* "30 days has September, April, June and November, all the rest have 31."

Okay, so by the above that's a Saturday. I found out lovely wonderful IU is continuing its tradition of CLASSES MEET ON LABOR DAY. But I should be good for Saturday. Besides, I'll probably need to be home to grab more junk to move down anyway.

Mightb: Not only that, but I've had to WORK at my work-study (a federal funded program) on a federal holiday. How silly, indeed.

The notion of a "Fall Break" is also foreign to us.

Something that only seems to happen in the Indiana school systems.

*rolls eyes* Am I right that in Pennsylvania you get Hunting Day and Good Friday off still? ;)

Nope. I don't even know what Hunting Day is, but I don't recall any of the schools getting off for Good Friday.

Wisconsin has a Fall Break. It is the first week of Hunting Season.

We finally got a fall break a couple years back, but it's only one or two days at the end of a week. Big whoop.

If it's on a weekend I'm almost always game. Especially if there's liquor involved! Any ideas on venues? P.S. O'Rourke's in Castleton is good for gatherings, if you don't mind smoke. (We've had Haven user meets there before). If not, though, there are always city parks and such. And if the crowd isn't too big, the house party idea also looks good. And pets certainly don't bother me, either. Just my $0.02.

Freakdog: I get most of my PA info from relatives in College Station, Johnstown, and friends I've made at IU from Pittsburgh and Erie.

They've confirmed some sort of day off for hunting in March or April (maybe it's Februrary). And ALL of them got off for Good Friday.

Well, you're talking the Pittsburgh area, for heaven's sake. That's not really Pennsylvania...it's some sort of annexed territory. <wink>
