I had a backup of my BBS from when I was trying to export and reimport the database, so I just restored the netconfigs/* files.

Freakdog: just give it a couple of minutes. Dangling shares are removed the next time the network spooler runs.

Oh, it cleared out the dangling shares, alright...cleared out all of the shares, actually.

Although once I restored my netconfigs/* files, the networker did clear out the references to theHeatSinkBBS, but not the rest of the stuff.

Odd, that's a known bug that was fixed on 2004/05/03 and the bugfix published in 6.21. Were you still running 6.20?

Nope...I was running 6.21, and upgraded to 6.22...in fact, I was running 6.22 when I removed theHeatSinkBBS from my network configuration.

He gave up already?  Didn't he see the messages going around about the fix that was needed to resolve the looping messages?

I tried Citadel/UX about 18 months ago and quit on it. Then I came back to it after looking for something better.

If any of you hace seen the stuff dumping into rooms that I have UseNet feeds linked into, you may have seen a lot of virus activity.. I'm going to try bitdefender for Linux sendmail and see if that helps.  I can't afford to pay for a real virus scan, so I'm going to try their free scanner for the time being.   http://www.bitdefender.com/bd/site/products.php?p_id =9

If anyone has any sugestions, please feel free to share.

I just installed bitdefender on my server running citadel.  Hopefully this will stop some of the crap coming in on UseNet.

Campy, give me a call...I've got a full antivirus scanner going with my version of postfix, and might be able to help you out.
