fd,

current git contains some fixups for citadel networking.

there also is a new <resync> button in webcit, which you might want to use to get stuff resync'ed...

I'm going to have to migrate my Citadel to a system running a higher version of Linux (CentOS 6.2 or so) or a VM doing so, first...but I like that resync option...that'll be a nice.

Hi All!

I've set up a new Citadel system, node name cobweb, and would like to get connected into the Citadel network.   Is there someone who can help me with this?

Hey FD, you're running fedora, right?

would you mind testing those SuSE OBS RPMs?

please try upgrading to latest git, we had some issues about file descriptor leaks, and concurency checks which will make stuff get over slow.

Can someone check the citadel log, here, and/or run an nslookup against dogpound2.citadel.org, and let me know if it's resolving?

I lost an external DNS server, and with that server going away, I also don't have access to a shell account outside of my own systems where I can run some tests.

2 things of note.

Networking seems to be having issues again (I see 2 new messages from an hour ago in Citadel Support> which haven't made their way over to DP2).

There seems to be some lag here...web sessions (at least over https) are getting "Connection was reset" messages, and when I did a .Goto to get into this room, I got the X on my client (I'm running the text client from my home system) for a good 5 seconds.

And Haven is, I believe, down at the moment. If it became unavailable while connected, it may explain some things.

Old server's running Fedora 5.

New server's running CentOS 5.6.  I can give 'em a try there, since I don't have anything live running there, yet.

that would be realy great, please give eugene feedback in citadel support about your findings.

TIA.

Glad to know it's still on the radar.

In (un?)related news, I'm currently building a new server to replace the one on which DP2 runs...64bit, quad-core AMD processor. I'll get to test the "new" export/import feature.

Should be interesting.

BTW...when you restarted, were you able to just use the init script, or did you have to manually kill the citserver processes, as I often find myself stuck doing?

You're working for Microsoft? Remind me to put some code into Citadel that detects when it's running on Azure and self-destructs...

well, maybe you should run easy install once, to get a fresh copy of curl in /usr/local/ctdlsupport that is up to date...  and then compile your tarball with added  parameters

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Freakdog,

I'm not getting any new messages in any of the shared rooms from your your system (they do work locally;  but none of the new postings on my systems have made it to yours).  I'm not seeing anything in the logs about why, but I'm not entirely sure about where to look...  )

Should  I at least be seeing connection attempts from your system?  Although I'm not sure what you might have used for a domain name for that...

Not using RPMS...I don't believe that I'm using Easy Install...I seem to recall it not working as well as I wanted on CentOS 5...I've always used source tarballs.
