Finally bit the bullet and migrated my Citadel from my old 32bit Athlon system to my newer 64bit Phenom x4 system.

Time to test networking.

Finally made it in. Had to remove an empty "uncnsrd" in /usr/local/citadel/network/spoolout, first.

Now...just need to see what I need to do to try out the experimental version that dothebart mentioned.

Can someone check the citadel log, here, and/or run an nslookup against dogpound2.citadel.org, and let me know if it's resolving?

I lost an external DNS server, and with that server going away, I also don't have access to a shell account outside of my own systems where I can run some tests.

so, the new networker code is up and running.

for some reasons there were some contact attempts where the networker bailed out with 'dp2: so the : is to much.

imho it just can have been added by the server... maybe a connection overload?

I have seen the same from uncnsrd...not sure ehy. on my side, I only network w/3 or 4 nodes, so I don't think it was a network overload here.

well, that possible overrun is the number of sessions in total (i.e. SMTP counts here too)

since it seems to work most of the time, and sometimes not, I thought it might occur on your side...

Nope...I'm now working for an up and coming competitor, and running it from there. ;-)

You're working for Microsoft? Remind me to put some code into Citadel that detects when it's running on Azure and self-destructs...

I said "an up and coming competitor"... ;-)

You guys know that I wouldn't go to work for M$...besides...what would they do with an AIX/Linux admin, anyhow?

I'm working for HP Cloud Services.
