(Lack of money)
Wheeeee!!! A large hammer and a very low tolerance for bullshit from utilities/phone is *all I need*. :)

They said something on the phone about they're allowed to keep their
existing customers for the forseeable future, so for now at least I'm okay.
I don't watch TV, and I don't need their TV service (Although wouldn't
verizon be interested to know that the only reason I might not go with
their video service and have to buy cable is BECAUSE of whatever rule

I left you a voice message, but also wanted to send you an e-mail to be
you receive the updated information regarding AceFiber. For the
future, you will be able to remain an AceFiber customer. You will
same IP and service. The only stipulation being that you would not be
add Verizon's FIOS TV service that will be coming out at some point in the
future to the line. The two services are not compatible, and you would
Please feel free to call or e-mail if you have any questions.
Considering they told me NO last week, and are now saying yes "for the forseeable future" I expect they're still ironing out details.
In the meantime, I just hope that the recent FCC reclassification of DSL as an "information service" and therefore unregulated (like I said before, we have the best government money can buy, and ILEC's have lots of money) doesn't mean that third-party ISP's like Acecape will be booted off the DSL networks as well.
Yes, absolutely right; and also after about 6 black russians (kahlua & vodka). I lost count so I can't tell you for sure. ;^)
Everything I posted I meant (and I hereby "un-retract what I retracted!), but I was just trying to emphasize the fact that I
will be switching from broadband cable to broadband DSL in this new town we're moving to. The problem is it may be an estimated 6 (yes SIX)
months before the service is hooked up, finalized, paid for, wired (by me), etc., etc., etc.
What Am I Going To Do Without An Internet Connection During That Time?!?
Aside from the obvious hamperings of work, most of which I have already "worked" out, you must
understand that for me (and a lot of other people as well) accessing the web is just as addictive as
caffeine, nicotine, or even (do I dare say it) heroin. Yes, my condition is that sad. As I am not a coffee
drinker; my computer is my "percolator". In the morning I take care of the 3 "S"s first (s**t, shower & shave
for those of you who have never heard the expression). Then after pulling on my clothes I turn on the Mac
and check all my web news, transguide traffic and weather (ho-hum... gee, the forcast is hot again)
What am I to do without all this during this time? Crap! You mean I'm gonna have to buy a newspaper? :^)
I hope DSL is a good broadband connection as most of you in this room affirm. Because I aint got
no choice up there. BTW: The DSL service is provided by the local branch of Verizon. It'd better work well
or I will go completely nuts! (not that I'm not already) :^)
I suppose it's normal to feel this way about a major move...
But at least I know if the DSL service is lousy up there, it's all Aahz's fault.
(the remaining time for actual getting on line depends on how long I take to wire the house.)
(it's still Aahz's fault)
if you've been calling me that in private rooms or whatever! :) Now it is public and
I have yet another trophy to place upon the new mantle. "Thanks Aahz... I really worked hard for that." :^)
