All right, time for a singalong...

"The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"

Gordon Lightfoot

"The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy
With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty.
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early..."

(mercifully, I'll stop there)

Or, the Pirate Song by Ray Stevens:

I want to sing and dance
I want to sing and dance
I want to be a pirate
In the Pirates of Penzance

Wear me silver buckle slippers
And me tight shiny pants

I want to sing and dance

My favorite "pirate song" is this one, sung by George Harrison (after a full "My Sweet Lord" intro) on the Pythons' "Rutland Weekend Television":

'I'd like to be a pirate,

A pirate I must be.

All my friends are pirates

And we sang on the BBC.

I've got a Jolly Roger,

It's black and wide and vast, SO!

Get out of your skull and crossbones,

I'll run it up your mast!"

I suspect that pot of coffee has gone cold by now.

Today's secret ingredient is ... bleu cheese.  Iron Chef Wesley made up a paste containing bleu cheese and red onions (which he insists on calling "purple onions" because ... well ... they are purple) which we put inside some hamburgers and tossed them on the grill.  It wasn't intended to be a paste, but he insisted on bringing it together in a stand mixer.  When I saw that it had turned into a paste I initially thought that it had been ruined, but it actually worked better that way.

Anyway, as anyone who's ever had bleu cheese infused burgers knows ...    YYUUMMM!!!

Paired up nicely with my signature GrillyTaterz(tm) and a salad containing even more bleu cheese.

I don't actually have a recipe for this, but it seems easy enough.. The other day I was eating at my favorite local steakhouse and ordered a salad with bleu cheese dressing, which is the usual for me.  The waitress asked if I would like bleu cheese butter on my steak.  To sum it up, I tried it and it was great.  If you are a bleu cheese lover, you might want to give this a try.  It is probably as easy as heating up some butter and tossing in a bit of bleu cheese..  I'm off to google to find out..

I found this quite helpful, especially in these economic times.
This lady manages to feed her family of four
for $800 a year. It's interesting, and
I know everyone likes to save money.

I looked. She's a smart shopper. Cute stuff.

Unfortunately, her stuff doesn't apply to me, because mainly she manipulates sales as opposed to using cheap ingredients.

I've increased our fresh veggie use, which really helps because veggies are quite cheap here.

Has the additional benefit of being healthy of course.

Kinneret will wolf down tomatoes and cucumbers... give her cherry tomatoes, and she's practically in heaven.

Fresh fruit and fresh veggies are awesome, unfortunately, the price of them - getting very expensive.

Even the frozen fruits and veggies hurt the pocketbook....
