I think it's time to get the rotisserie attachment for my grill so we can make up a big mess of doner/shawarma/gyro meat for a cookout this spring. (And as far as I'm concerned, the Greeks invented it.)

The rotisserie attachment is the best damn thing you can have for the grill.  Pork Lion roasts, whole chickens, Sirloin roasts......It's almost fool proof.  Makes you look like a genius with almost everything you cook on it.

drop the $100 for the heavy duity rotisserie kit, it's well worth it.  We went through three lighter weight motors before finally dropping the cash on the heavy duity unit. Mind you we have a yearly lamb roast. (open coals, many hours of watching Arni spin round and round.)  Ortidox Easter if anyone is interested... This year that's a week after everyone else has Easter in the US.   Please RSVP at least a week ahead... :)

Drink enough port, you can summon anything.

Make a sorbet out of it.  Infact I just saw a cooking program where they made an Akavit sorbet.  Looked good.  They cheated though.  Used liquid Nitrogen to freeze it.

If I had a nice bottle of port I'd be drinking it long before thinking about cooking with it.

All right, time for a singalong...

"The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"

Gordon Lightfoot

"The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy
With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty.
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early..."

(mercifully, I'll stop there)

Or, the Pirate Song by Ray Stevens:

I want to sing and dance
I want to sing and dance
I want to be a pirate
In the Pirates of Penzance

Wear me silver buckle slippers
And me tight shiny pants

I want to sing and dance
