This is true.
Have you tried sauteeing dog snot in butter? I'm told it makes all the difference.
I'll have to try that...
note - I said MANY things.
eg, most veggies (cucumbers and lettuce excepted), bread, pasta, potatoes,
eggs (of course), grilled cheese sandwiches,
I've been told some meats are good sauted in butter.
basically, almost any savory food and many sweet foods can be improved by a saute'ing in butter
if it ain't food, don't waste buttery love on it.
I've been thinking about all this talk about butter. It's been going on for days and I started to wonder if I have any butter in the house. I checked the fridge and I do. But it's exceedingly old. Then it occured to me that this was something I might have taken notice of earlier if I ever cooked my own food.
I'm 3 decades old now. Maybe it's time I learn to cook..
Side question. I'm sitting here eating a lemon. And it tastes sweet. Can lemons turn sweet if they sit around too long?
Now butter is actually just fat. While fat tastes good, what is with all the love? Well? A lot of things taste good. Lemons, for example.
(NOTE: I'm actually quoting someone who used to frequent this board a lot... the quote 'butter is love' is not necessarily my own, but provides an inside joke for folks who know what I'm talking about).
You know fleeb. You never mentioned what would happen to someone who used egg beaters or some other such horrific "egg substitute" in their omelette.
dinner tonight: steaks (but a crappy cut) with sweet potato and zucchini "fries"
The consequences are truly too dire to mention here.
" fast. But Yaakov? He'll be ill. I'm for sure breaking my fast on water, 20 minutes later I got an apple in the car. Then vegetable soup when I get home.
But you know, David makes eggs for the kids sometimes. With leftover challah, call it "french toast" even though I doubt french people eat it.
Are they French people, or Freedom people?
I use eggbeaters to rid my bikes:
thats all i do with eggbeaters.
Actually, I entirely forgot about it being a fast.
I'm not nursing, b/c of that whole post-partum hemorrhage thing where I almost bled to death.
kinda killed the milk supply.
otoh, the fact that I've had a constant migraine for 5 weeks might exempt me anyway.
Yaakov had to stay late at work, so he broke the fast at work, so the food was just for me anyway.
