I never made a turkey before. I've been planning to have this dinner all year and I could have made a few dry runs wtih smaller turkeys. Why didn't I do that? Why did I wait till Thanksgiving to wing it?

Family turkey secret. Take one peeled onion and one clean apple. Shove into the turkey. sprinkle granulated garlic over the whole thing. Cook covered at 350 for a bunch of hours.
I always brine a turkey overnight before cooking it. That plus cooking by internal temperature instead of time yields a moist turkey every time.
He doesn't cook them... only buys them?
