It's garden time!  W00t!

Tonight's fare:

Garden salad of Bib, Boston, Romaine and Arugula greens with onions, radishes, grape tomatoes, basil, and dill; starring only garden vegetables and dressed with a homemade lemon/garlic/ginger dressing

Sugar SnapPea, Green Bean, onion, and Red and Green Pepper stir-fry; starring all garden vegetables

Rosemary-Dill Salmon, assisted by garden herbs

Fresh garden strawberries and a little B&B

Damn, I love this time of year!

Me too!  My mother joined a CSA program.  However, she can't eat all of that stuff herself, so I get half her bounty a lot of the time.  Tonight I'm making fresh tomato gratin.  I had fresh lettuce with some fresh peppers in a salad today.  I'm putting lots of basil in my roast chicken tonight too.

How do you make yours?

This is actually pretty good!

Basically, it's a chicken shish-ka-bob, but don't be afraid to "dress it up".

Follow the recipe, ingredients are key. But I prefer breast (well, duh) over
thighs. Wait, NO, that's a connundrum... I Like Them Both, SO THERE!...

Pure Vegans, like my sister, need not apply.

IG, if this posts, consider it notice that it works. Thanks.

I put some bread in teh food processor and then toasted the crumbs in butter and garlic then tossed it with lots of fresh grated parmesan.  I layered the tomatoes in a pan with basil and sprinkled the bread crumb mixture on top.  I forgot the temps and times though.

So, is that where you eat the playing pieces when you capture someone?

That's a fabulous idea, actually!

Actually, you have to wait until the game is over before eating the pieces.
Otherwise, what would you do if your opponent got a pawn all the way across the board?

The same thing you do when you advance a pawn and haven't lost a piece of the type you want to promote to yet?

Subject: A message for Aahz and IG

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

This message is for Aahz and IG (in no particular order of course) and has nothing to do with
any thread that is currently going on, or ongoing, whatever. (and others are encouraged to chime
in)

Would you please PM to me your super-secret meatloaf recipe? I mean, Gadzooks!, I'm not in
any kind of competition with you - I live half a continent away! Yes, I can turn out a good meatloaf
on my own, but what eludes me is the fluffy cafeteria style. I never can seem to get it just right.

This is serious for me - I WANT TO KNOW. And please don't recommend a google; it doesn't
turn up (ooh! turnip!) anything that I haven't seen before. TIA.
