With nightshade allergies, isn't it only the green parts of the veggies?

Not that you should ever eat a green tater to begin with, but not being
able to eat potatoes. That's just...wrong.

Coincidentally, we are serving meatloaf tonight at the Mouse House. Lately we've been cooking it in muffin pans. The kids love the tiny "meatloaf muffins" on their plates.

Apparently tobacco's a nightshade too.  But sweet potato is not.

We actually don't use bread crumbs or cretins.

We use oatmeal... nice and FIBERY!

truffle, do you still smoke? (or is tobacco only a problem if you eat it?)

i quit often, but haven't managed to completely quit. A few a day and I'm ok, if I go out drinking I chain smoke and HURT the next day.

It's not just the green parts, that would make it easy. One of my friends makes meatloaf without any type of starch, just meat, eggs, onions, tomato sauce and whatever else she uses for flavor. I also hate the smell of raw turkey, so I won't be adding that to my meatloaf unless somebody else is doing the mixing.

you need to come visit some bars that ban smoking :)

austin bars do ban smoking, I don't normally go out drinking, so I end up sitting in the back yard drinking and smoking. Thankfully, working 3 jobs means I don't have much time for drinking.

Argentina has outlawed smoking indoors and even sends out inspectors throughout Buenos Aires who issue serious fines.

well, i guess it's cheaper to go drinking in your own backyard anyway.

Sounds like Washington state.

But now that I can endure going into a bar, (since I am deathly allergic to tobacco smoke), it turns out that I can't drink alcohol and have "Just one". My addictive side gets started and I don't do well then.

So still on the wagon and staying away from smokers.

You can also use ground chicken or (better still) pork.

Of course, you may not wantto use pork... but ground chicken will work I suppose.

the pork does kill the whole Jewish thing...

then again, soaking your bread in milk doesn't work well for kosher anyway.

then use grelf's potatoes.

er, use his idea, not his actual potatoes. If you venture into his kitchen/domicile you may be either stabbed or killed by slobber, or killed by canine gasses.

anyway, buy your own potatoes.
