Winzlo: That's one of the reasons I tried to get the cannon ball out of hte cannon before it was fired. My mistake.

Hmm.. my sister, for that matter, was using Netscape 7 on a mac, and I typically use it on a Linux machine. Is it Windows-specific or something?

Could be Windows specific. I also asked him if he's got any sort of proxy in the middle. I can't access Webcit, properly, with any sort of proxy server in the middle.

Hey, at least you weren't standing in front of the cannon. :)

If anyone can point out a specific configuration that causes WebCit to act this way, let me know and I'll do what I can to duplicate (and hopefully fix) it. I've got a lot of things on my plate right now, but if there are bug fixes to be done then they have to come first.

IG. Set up your web browser to point to, port 8118.
I'm running the privoxy proxy.

I have the same problem at work, but I have no idea what they're using for a proxy server at SBC/Ameritech.

I might symbolically filter Curly here on the last day I am up.
Curly will take it as a protest of Iggy's actions. Iggy and others
will just ignore it...

There's an idea. The curly BBS. Any messages that come over the net instead of getting filtered, get delivered to the curly bbs, and can be read there.
Just an idea. :-)

Sure, there were user conflicts. But I can't remember any of them that sunk

to this level of mud slinging.

But that's our speciality.

You know what else changes? In the good old days BBSes were more geographic by calling area. So we could actually have user meetings. So when we got together, we'd let grelf beat up anybody who was an asshole.
It was a nicer time.

This is the evil that escapes "Uncensored," the ability to try someone in absentia and deny them a defense.

I'd like very much to hear Loanshark, et. al., explain how accusing me of molesting my daughter is a "polite" request. Do they believe in their heart of hearts that a parent would not respond to such an allegation?

Actually I think my response was quite measured given the intentional goading.
At no time did I stoop to name-calling but reiterated the facts which the "Uncensored" droids were unable to discuss.

I'm sorry this spills over into networked dialog but I will never permit a rewrite of history nor to allow such criminal accuations to be made about me, my family or my friends.

Ford: you have a point about geographic location. A good number of us on Haven met on past BBS's and do know each other personally...and we mostly like each other, so noone gets beat up :)

I do use a personal proxy (the Proximitron), but disabled it and had the same thing happen. It is important to note that Both Opera 6.05 and Netscape 7.0 do the same thing( will have to verify and get the file to post here on my Amiga). IE on the other hand worked correctly (shudder...). I use IE for two things, (they will not support anything else) and for Citadel/Ux. I almost have the working with Netscape 7.0...
The only other thing I have is a pop-up window killer, but I also have disabled that...

Tony, go into your browser's proxy settings, and tell it to not use any proxy for any of the sites, and try again.

I'm using the pop-up window killer on my Netscape 7.0 at home, so I doubt that's it.
