I still need windows...can't play Starcraft in Linux even using Wine.  'course it's only a game...and an old one at that

I found one thing that works to get older, and some other orthodox games, to work within wine even though they're not quite supported. Most of the time, it's because the MS fonts are missing and they require IE to run as a launch-point.

Common Solution: get IEs4Linux (http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page)

Oops, hit save way too early.

Sorry I've been gone so long. The economy pretty much hammered me to death and I've been working my ass off to pay the bills. Fortunately I'm recovering, even if the economy isn't. So expect to see me around more.

It's always a pleasure to have you around, IO. Although I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling financially, I'm really happy to hear that you'll be here more frequently.

I'm puzzled.

When i logged into this system, it announced it was using Citadel 7.80, although the last release in the news section was 7.60 last year.

???

Subject: Citadel "virtual appliance" is now in OVF format

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Many sites have taken advantage of the Citadel "virtual appliance" for VMware, one of the easiest ways to either evaluate the Citadel system, deploy a pre-integrated system, or even run Citadel on Microsoft Windows.

Learn more here: http://www.citadel.org/doku.php/installation:appliance

Effective immediately, the appliance is now distributed in OVF (Open Virtualization Format). This should theoretically allow it to be run on VMware, Xen, VirtualBox, and many other hypervisors.

Give it a try!

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Those of you who had trouble deploying the Citadel virtual appliance for VMware (and possibly other hypervisors as well) might want to give it another try. We've updated the download.

Full description at http://www.citadel.org/doku.php/installation:appliance

If you're using VMware, all you have to do is go File --> Deploy OVF Template...
and enter the following location: http://easyinstall.citadel.org/appliance.ovf
... and the entire installation will be conducted automatically.

Any idea if this will work with (or can be converted to) ProxMox? Just got turned on to this last week. We've already fielded 2 servers at work using ProxMox... Slick as hell.
