All you have to do is press the link button in the editor and type the name of another page as the link. That's all there is to it!

Fri Sep 19 2014 09:35:02 EDT from friday @ Uncensored Subject: dumb question about past installation method

Don't laugh. But, how do I know if I have installed a particular client's citadel by either running the "easy install" script or by using Ubuntu apt-get debs method.

I know it has to do with the location of where the citadel directories are, I just don't remember where. This client's servers been in place since the start of the 8.x.x series. I just don't remember the method I used during the install. This client is running 8.0.5 and I'd like to update it to a newer version. I just want to make sure I update it properly.

Also, the reason to update it is due to a sieve processing error one user is getting. Emails are forwarded to a different account, yet there are no rules in webcit's "view/edit server side filters" listed. However, when I ensure to select "leave it in my inbox without filtering", click save and exit, when I go back to "view/edit server side filters", I get greeted with a "filter through a manually edited script" dialog screen. I even deleted the account, and the account to where mail is forwarded to, recreated the account, and yet the sieve processing rules are back in place. It was as if the original account wasn't deleted recursively, and when recreated, picks up the rules of the account under the same name.

So, I have two issues, but I figured I'd can nail two birds with one stone by just updating. I just want to make sure I update properly

Hi,

I've had trouble unsubscribing and was getting the following message;

This could mean one of two things:

You waited too long to confirm your subscribe/unsubscribe request

The error returned by the server was: You need to specify the email

Subject: Calender item time displays wrong in day view

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Greetings!

I have been using citadel on my server a few weeks now (linux mint 17) and all is great (still getting my head around the "rooms" thing) except for calendar. My users all report and I confirm that an item set for one time is displayed at some random other time on the day view. Hovering shows a popup with the right time. So a meeting from 10 to 11 am may show up at 1am or 3 am or whatever.

I have tried setting it to local NY time and UTC and it still never matches the set or popup time listed. I think sometimes the length is even wrong.

Any ideas? Angry users are chasing me....

Same here, but no one seems to want to help....

I've tried all the crazy cities listed and it does shift times a bit, but not proportionally. Almost randomly coordinated. And then the length changes too which would NOT be a timezone issue.

Makes half the suite useless so far!

Fri Sep 19 2014 16:04:59 EDT from caligula @ Uncensored Subject: Wrong time in created appointments and appointment display in calendar

Hello,

I installed citadel ( citadel-suite 8.14-dfsg-1) on a raspberry pi.

Timezone of linux on the Pi is Europe/Berlin. When I create a new appointment through the webinterface,

the appointment is created actually with a time offset of 2 hrs. The display in the daily calendar

is also incorrect, it starts at the start time of the created appointment but ends 1:30 hrs later than

the appointment ends.

E.g. I create an appointment 1pm - 4pm

It is created as 3pm - 6pm (+2 hrs) and shown in the daily calendar as a box from 3pm - 7:30pm.

My browser is Chromium and the client machine is Ubuntu with timezone Europe/Berlin.

I assume it is some issue with timezone settings, but I have no idea where to look further.

An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded:  Invalid recipient: sn@mail.ofc. Please check the message recipient sn@mail.ofc and try again.

same error as before is happening.

this time, i have uninstalled, deleted the config files and re-installed citadel server suite. also, changed the mail server name to mail.ofc.

have this time created 8 users from NEW USER link from LOGIN PAGE. Only 2 users are working - but not others. How to go ahead from here?

sheila.master Citadel server ready.

QDIR emailaddress

sendcommand: processing ended.

instead of emailaddress - i tried sahil, sandeep and then sandeep@sheila.master - same response.

then changed sahil user to aide level - restarted citadel - same situation. i can send emails to sahil via web interface of sheila.master but not through thunderbird. any setting in thunderbird that requires tweaking?

try running

sendcommand IGAB

to rebuild your recipient database.

check with

sendcommand QDIR emailaddress

to whom a mail is delivered.

Try editing the users vcard as aide user.

yes, the checkmark is checked in the user settings. although it does not make a difference, because receiving emails from the internet seems to work with the unchecked checkmark-setting in the user settings, too. (if it finally works then...)

you can use

sendcommand QDIR <emailaddress>

to find out who mails are delivered too.

maybe editing the vcard or doing

sendcommand IGAB

can fix your situation.

I've only tried even numbers and iirc it doesnt change minutes if it is 0. However, the daily calendar display never lines up with an even hour, making it visually imply its not at the hour.

The ending time seems to be even 'stickier' than the start time once its made up whatever time it thinks your event should be at. While it may eventually take an edit on start time by hammering it, I can almost never make a 1 hr meeting be an hour for instance. A few times it even moved the ending to next day after hitting ok. Then it takes a delete and start over. It was out of control after that.

Subject: POP3 aggregation and other Citadels

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello! I'm a new Citadel user on Debiab. After setting up the basics I have a few more things to arrange, for which I can't find configuration options or information on the internet. Help is very welcome :-)

First, I'd like to pull from my existing POP3 mailboxes into Citadel. According to the FAQ there's no need to use fetchmail for that since Citadel can already do that. I found how to configure it, but then I realized there's no option to choose port of encryption - does it mean Citadel reads the mail with unencrypted POP3? If that's the case I'll probably uses fetchmail/mpop instead. Otherwise, how do I configure the use of SSL/TLS and port number for this feature?

Second, how exactly does Citadel node federation work? Can I post things here with my own local username? I created a user here on Uncensored because I didn't find a way to login with my local user here.

And thanks for making great software!

Subject: updating citadel on fedora 20 (64 bit) fails

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

greetings!
i have been unable to update the citadel packages via the fedora 20 yum update process.

the various citadel packages are identified for upgrade, yet are never installed due to a conflict between the versions of files that citadel requires (old versions) and the versions that are installed by fedora.

e.g. the terminal outputs:

---> Package webcit-8.24-1.5.x86_64 0:8.24-1.4 will be updated
--> Finished Dependency Resolution

Error: Package: webcit-8.24-1.5.x86_64 (home_homueller_citadel)

Requires: libical.so.0() (64bit)

Removing: libical-0.48-40.1.x86_64 (@home_homueller_citadel)

    libical.so.0() (64bit)

Updated by: libical-1.0-4.fc20.x86_64 (fedora)

    ~libical.so.0() (64bit)

what is the recommended approach here?

thanks

the remote side is tagging you as spam, and not delivering the message therefore.
