Subject: configure citadel as mail server

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello,

I'm a Newbie in Linux and Citadel too, I need to configure citadel with 10 emails that retrieve emails from a POP, configure outlook for users and use the smtp from my hosting, but configure an alternative smtp too. I already installed citadel in a virtual machine, used the default account to try, and configure the retrieval, but it does not retieve any email. I want to use it as an alternative to Exchange but there is not any manual or clear user guide.

Where can I find a guide to configure step by step?

citadel doesn't support changing passwords via imap.

If you want to do this from roundqube, you would have to implement a citadel plugin for that.

It looks as if that plugin uses something called "poppassd"

A pretty simple protocol, but not one we implement. If someone wanted to they could probably implement it in an hour or two.

citadel can use these authentication methods:

internal (then you need to talk to citadel to modify passvoids)

LDAP

MS AD

PAM - in which case if you find a module to use your auth you may go forward...

Subject: Duplicate Mailing List Posts

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi,

I receive two postings from the mailing list for every message: one that comes from the author, and one that comes from the forum itself, with the author's post enclosed simply (a few headers and then the body).  Anyone know what's going on there?

Cheers,

Sabahattin

I also am noticing the same thing, and have wondered...

hm, the citadel network currently has a node which failed due to hardware problems; I guess this is the source of the problem.

Sorry for inconvenience.

I'm not sure how mailing list issues from citadel.org would be
affected by a differnt node?

What I'm seeing is two different copies of the same message; for
instance, yours. Both are from "Citadel Support
<citadel_support@citadel.org>" ; but one has a subjece of only
"[Citadel Support]", while the other has the full subject

It sounds as if you are subscribed both to the regular and digest forms of the list.

I agree that this is the plausible answer, but it doesn't seem to hold -- while I was unsubscribed, I received no email at all. Since that time I have subscribed only once, in regular mode.

I told Uncensored! what my email address was in my profile. Does this change anything?

Subject: PHP citmail MTA

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello,

I have Citadel setup on a VM of Fedora 20. I'm using it to relay SMTP (using stunnel for TLS support).

I'm able to send mail out through the Citadel web interface on port 2000 and I'm also able to send mail via the shell after configuring my /etc/alternatives all as noted in the documentation. What I'm not able to do at this point is to get my PHP scripts to send mail out. After tailing the httpd error log I see:

"citmail: can't connect: Permission denied"

Is there any extra configuration needed here to get php's mail() function agreeing with citmail?

Thank you,

Lucas Karisny
