It means that something was found in the directory that's not a file -- for
example, a subdirectory, or a named pipe, or a socket, etc. ls -la ought to
tell you right away. I'll clarify the error message in r7727.

Fixed in r7764 -- minimum size of a note is now 50x50px.

However, I find your characterization of this bug as a "blocker" to be quite
obnoxious. This bug was trivial at best.

(In reply to comment #7)

I think that the messages that weren't deleted in my last attempt just didn't
fit the resulting buffer, so if StrBuf is elastic, it sounds like it's time for
it to be used.

StrBuf is now used for this function. We still truncate down to the length of
the target buffer before returning data to the caller, but while the sequence
set is being processed it can grow as large as it needs to. This was completed
during r7774 through r7796 and will appear in the next release of the code.

As a workaround I would definitely recommend that you continue to make vset
10*SIZ bytes which should be more than sufficient to carry you through until
the new code finds its way to production systems. Thanks for reporting this
issue; your feedback is valuable in helping us find these issues.

I was unable to reproduce this issue. Normally when you supply a username with
"@" in it, you are logging in with your email address. Citadel detects this
and replaces it with the correct user name for logging in. Do you actually
have "@" in your user names? I'm not sure that will work. You may have to
change the names. If you can elaborate more on how you got your system into
this state and outline a set of steps with which we can reproduce the issue,
feel free to reopen this bug report.

I think I understand the problem now - ""/usr/local/citadel/files///bofhmike"
appears in the file directory for room "Citadel Bug Tracking" but is not a
regular file. Directories, named pipes, sockets, etc. are not usable in Citadel
room directories."

Since the default room directory is nothing, I now need to go through every
directory room to find out which one has no sub-directory set, and it could be
multiples. I asked for this in bugzilla to be corrected a while ago.. I'll
update the bug.

And BTW, my "Citadel Bug Tracking" room doesn't have a directory associated w/
it, never did.

I have a server that accepts delivery for its domain but that requires relay
authentication.

Bob is my name. Bill is a fellow user.
Myexwife@hotmail.com wants to put an email in my sent mail purportedly between
bob and mywife@gmail.com.

How does she do it.

1. She forges an email from bob@mydomain bcc'ing bill@mydomain.com admitting I
have been hacking the pentagon and sleeping with my girlfriend with the to
detail as mywife@gmail.com

This will be delivered to bill, who may or may not ignore it, and will be added
to bob's sent mail folder.

2. She then forges a mail with the same content direct to mywife@gmail.com

Now, in my sent mail, there is a copy of the messsage, and mywife@gmail.com has
the message as well.

3. My wife reads the message, checks my sent mail and sees thaat I've
supposedly sent it, and sharpens the knives!

Simples!

It's due to the fact that a local account will of course stop citadel from
requiring auth from anywhere and equally when cit determines the from address
is a valid user, it automatically stores it in the sent mail.
