Subject: [Bug 442] cannot set ical sgi value via telnet

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

http://bugzilla.citadel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442

--- Comment #1 from Roland Wolters <roland.wolters@credativ.de> 2008-12-10 07:26:06 EST ---
It was mentioned via irc that the problem I ran into:

I need webcit to invite other attendees of a calendar entry. So the workflow I
need is:
User a creates a calendar entry. He adds user B and C to it as attendees. But B
and C must be informed that there is a new calendar entry now.

Now the documentation of citadel states that this is only possible when I set
the ical sgi value to 1. However, the documentation doesn't answer *where* to
do it. The only option I found was to access the citadel server via telnet and
set the value manually to 1. That however fails, as shown below.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

http://bugzilla.citadel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443

Summary: libcitadel-7.38 fails to compile on x86_64 because 32

Product: Citadel
Version: current version
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW

libcitadel-7.38 does not compile (link) on a x86_64 Opteron machine, apparently
because the included files in libcitadel-7.38/lib/xdgmime/.libs are of a 386
(32-Bit) architecture:

/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.1.2/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld:

incompatible with i386:x86-64 output
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

Proposed fix:

1. 'make clean' in libcitadel-7.38/lib/xdgmime/
2. 'rm *.o' in libcitadel-7.38/lib/xdgmime/.libs
3. add '-fPIC' to CFLAGS in libcitadel-7.38/lib/xdgmime/Makefile
4. 'make' in libcitadel-7.38/lib/xdgmime/
5. 'cp *.o .libs/' in libcitadel-7.38/lib/xdgmime/
6. './configure && make' in libcitadel-7.38

Sorry if this has already been reported and thank you.

libcit-7.38 references xdg_mime_get_mime_type_for_data and
xdg_mime_get_mime_type_from_file_name in mime_parser.c. The symbols could not

The LDAP connector in Citadel is not intended to function as an authentication
module. It exists only to populate an address book for the benefit of email
clients that don't have support for things like vCard and GroupDAV. I agree
that native LDAP authentication would be great, and someday we'll add it, but
the current code is working as designed. Changing severity to "enhancement."

I was not referring to authentication, but to address books. Authentication is
not an issue at all since citadel can authenticate against the user system
(PAM) which again can handle LDAP - I'm totally fine with that :)
To clarify that I changed the title of this bug report.

But it is important for me to have the LDAP address books read by Citadel, not
written, because I need to organize the address book data with other programs
as well (CRM for example).

(In reply to comment #1)
I can't reproduce this on debian amd64. So please provide more information
here.
XGDMime has been in libcitadel allmost from its start, if symbols where
missing, we would have received a lot more bugreports in the last year or so.

Sorry, I tried to be concise and so I filed a report that is useless on second
reading. Apologies for wasting your time.

The problem occurred on a gentoo amd64-system as follows:

1. Downloaded libcitadel-7.38.tar.gz: 'wget
http://easyinstall.citadel.org/libcitadel-7.38.tar.gz'
2. 'tar -xzvf libcitadel-7.38.tar.gz'
3. 'cd libcitadel-7.38/lib/xdgmime'
4. 'make clean'
5. Added "-fPIC" to CFLAGS in the Makefile for xdgmime
6. 'make'
7. 'cd .libs' ( -> libcitadel-7.38/lib/xdgmime/.libs)
8. 'rm *.o'
9. 'cp -v ../*.o ./'
10. Change dir to the libcitadel-7.38 "root" and './configure' and 'make'
11. 'make install'
12. 'ldconfig -v'

13. 'wget http://easyinstall.citadel.org/citadel-7.38.tar.gz'
14. 'tar -xzvf citadel-7.38.tar.gz'
15. 'cd citadel-7.38'
16. './configure'

The following error appears in config.log (excerpt attached as "config.log"):

"
configure:8375: checking for libcitadel.h
configure:8382: result: yes
configure:8387: checking for libcitadel_version_string in -lcitadel
configure:8417: gcc -o conftest -g -O2 -Wall -Wcast-qual -Wcast-align
-Wstrict-prototypes -D_REENTRANT -pthread

collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
configure:8423: $? = 1
"

Also attached is a short information with regard to the CFLAGS/CBUILD/CHOST
with which the system is built (attached as "cinfo").

Running nm on the *.o-files in the unpacked but not yet recompiled
xdgmime-directory lists the symbols xdg_mime_get_mime_type_for_data and
xdg_mime_get_mime_type_from_file_name in xdgmime.o. The output is attached as
"nm_pre_recompile".

Running 'make clean' and 'make' in the same directory lists the symbols
xdg_test_mime_get_mime_type_for_data and
xdg_test_mime_get_mime_type_from_file_name in xdgmime.o. The output is attached
as "nm_post_recompile".

The initially proposed solution is probably wrong in my opinion (although the
system seems to work, but it is just a test system). Checking the Makefile in
libcitadel-7.38/lib/xdgmime, I found "-DXDG_PREFIX=xdg_test" in the CFLAGS.

Removing "-DXDG_PREFIX=xdg_test" from the CFLAGS in the Makefile in
libcitadel-7.38/lib/xdgmime and recompiling makes
xdg_mime_get_mime_type_for_data and xdg_mime_get_mime_type_from_file_name
reappear in xdgmime.o. The citadel-7.38-system then compiles and runs.

Hope this more helpful than my initial report.

Subject: [Bug 445] New: Citadel adds Organization: header

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

http://bugzilla.citadel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445

Summary: Citadel adds Organization: header
Product: Citadel
Version: current version
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P5
Component: Citadel server
AssignedTo: room_citadel_bug_tracking@uncensored.citadel.org
ReportedBy: stefan@localside.net
Estimated Hours: 0.0

citadel adds to each mail I receive the "Organization: ^humannode" header. This
happens also when it fetches the mail from an other pop3 account.
This is a confusing behaviour and should at least be configurable.

I use the following debian packages:
-citadel-server 7.38-41
-citadel-webcit 7.37-34
-citadel-common 7.38-41
-libcitadel1 7.38-8
-citadel-client 7.38-41
