The Jabber module does not obey the nologin flag in the context.
This should be fixed as single user mode uses it to prevent other modules from
modifying the DB during artv for example.

(perhaps as part of "Blog/Wiki" view) Would like to go back to a posted
message as the author and edit it after it has been posted. (and GOD knows that
I would make a lot of use of the feature.)
Now sure how this would be handled w/ networking. Perhaps diffs would need
to be networked as well and replace the original message.

GroupDAV PUT request to add vcard to server (correct)

As noted in my CitDev post:
A couple of months ago I tried to implement vcard photo view in webcit, and ran
into a problem when vcards were saved to the db. The newlines surrounding the
photo content seemed to be deleted, debugging every point up to the database
save showed no tampering, but when I opened the db file in a hex editor the
newlines were missing. Freakdog has run into this problem getting his contacts
from his Treo to sync via Funambol.

I've attached a GroupDAV PUT/create (billsuck2.vcs) and GET, can anyone shed
some light on this problem?

Hi,

Yesterday I came accross a problem whereby I connected to my citadel server via
https and Groupdav to set up a remote copy of my KONTACT address book.

I conected as myself, which is also the sysop and could see both my private
Contacts Addressbook and the Global Address Book.

I selected the Private Contacts Address Book and the conection was fine.

It had some old entries in it, so I deleted them from KONTACT and that worked
fine. Logging into Citadel and checking the Private Contacts confirmed that
they had been deleted.

I then Used the Copy Contact to: function in KONTACT to copy my local
addressbook over to citadel and populate my personal addressbook on citadel.

Surprise Surprise... Nothing there! But

When I looked via the WebCit Interface I found all my address book entries had
been poplulated into the main citadel Global Address Book. What a mess 8-)

I checked the KONTACT connector configuration and it was still only pointing to
the private contatcs list (Not the GAB).

Now I kinda suspect KONTACT is the one at fault, but I chated with dothbart
yesterday, and he suggested I put in a feature request to make tthe Global
Address Book READ ONLY via DAV. That would then ensure that a bodgy client
can't damage the system.

Prehaps there needs to be an option to override this though, in case sysop's
want to manage their GAB via DAV.

P.S. I now do the DAV stuff to a separate, less privaleged account, rather than
the main account. So The new account can't see the GAB. 8-)

Hi Guy's

I think this is a bug.

Uploading Files into a File Room via WebCit's interface from IE 6 seems to save
the file into the Linux file system named as the entire path to the file,
rather than stripping the path off first.

Ie. If I use the web interface to upload

C:\Documents and Settings\keith\My Documents\Anyfile.ext it actually ends up in
the file room named....

"C:\Documents and Settings\keith\My Documents\Anyfile.ext" rather than just
Anyfile.ext.

The funny file name also ends up in filedir as well.

It appears webcit does not allow the addition of more than one pop3 account
from the same mail host. For example test1@example.com and test2@example.com
pop3 email accounts cannot be created with a remote host at mail.example.com.
Instead, the creation of a second account simply overwrites the first, and the
system then only retrieves email from that account.

Can we also have a way to authenticate a guest at the subscription site? Right
now anyone can go to the subscription site and get a public room mail feed.
Would like to verify that the reader is a member, and* give them the option to
subscribe to the private rooms they have access to. (this may need to be
integrated into the webcit interface post login, perhaps a
subscribe/unsubscribe button in the room banner bar or advanced features menu.)

I thought this was a bug that had been noted and fixed, but it appears that
it's still an issue.

When one goes through Administration -> Configure replication with other
Citadel servers and adds a new node, or edits an existing node, the "Shared
secret" field allows you to enter a secret as long as you wish (at least the 18
characters that I tried in my testing), but appears to truncate the actual
secret at 16 characters (as noted when I went through the text client, and saw
that the last two characters were not present).

Erm, I beg to differ with the invalid thing.
I may be misreading stuff but......
I've not yet found a way to have one single message always displayed to every
new user in webcit.
If the question is how to have a permanent message displayed to every new user
how does that happen. Uncensored doesn't do it, mine doesn't do it. how do I do
it?
I don't see an obvious answer in the docs.

It's in the administration manual. You create a private room called "New User

created, all messages from that room are copied into the new user's inbox.

Created an attachment (id=41)
--> (http://bugzilla.citadel.org/attachment.cgi?id=41)
The problematic part circled red.

When editing an address of a contact, there are two fields provided under the
label "Address".
When these information are parsed to vcard, the second is parsed as the value
for the "address" (adr) key. However, the first field is not parsed as value
for the address field, but as value for the "extended address" (extadr) key.
You can also see that in line 139 and 140 of the vcard_edit.c field.

This can create quite some confusion with clients which depend on the address
field but sometimes ignore the extended address field for an easier display.
Also, some clients ignore that field totally, and last but not least the user
should simply see that these are two different values!

Therefore it should be better to add a string like "Address Extension" to the
first line and move the "Address" label to the line below, see the attached
mockup. You might also want to switch both so that "Address Extension" is below
the real "Address" field.

Fixed in r6564. Implemented RFC2919, the 'List-ID' field for mailing lists.
This is now a top-level Citadel header field (L), which makes it parseable by
the Sieve engine. Also added List-ID to the header fields selectable in the
mailbox filter rules editor. And of course, we are generating this field when
we send out traffic from a Citadel-hosted mailing list.

Citadel does not follow the vcard standard as it is at least missing the
version property within the vcards. I didn't check if there're other
violations, though.
A vcard created and downloaded via webcit looks as the following one:

begin:vcard
n:myLast;myFirst;myMiddle;myPre;mySuffix
title:myTitle
fn:myDisplayName
org:myOrganization
adr:myPoBox;myAddress1;myAddress2;myCity;myState;myZIP;myCountry
tel;home:myHomePhone
tel;work:myWorkPhone
tel;fax:myFax
tel;cell:myMobilePhone
email;internet:my@email
email;internet:my@email-alias
UID:48c15330-221b-0
end:vcard

The vcard standard (2.1) says:
Version
This property specifies the identifier corresponding to the highest version
number of the vCard Specification supported by the implementation that
created the vCard object. The value of this property must be 2.1 to
correspond to this specification..
This property is identified by the property name VERSION. The following
is an example of this property:
VERSION:2.1
Support for this property is mandatory for implementations conforming to this
specification. This property must appear within the vCard data stream.
vcards generated and saved by contact are fine:
begin:vcard
ADR;TYPE=pref;TYPE=work:;;worstreet;;;;
CLASS:PUBLIC
FN:KONTACT generated
LABEL;TYPE=pref;TYPE=work:delivery label
N:generated;KONTACT;4.1;;
NAME:KONTACT 4.1 generated
TEL;TYPE=HOME:homephone
TEL;TYPE=WORK:workphone
TEL;TYPE=MODEM:modemphone
UID:veVpGYManq
URL:homepage
VERSION:3.0
X-KADDRESSBOOK-X-IMAddress:123124214124
X-messaging/icq-All:123124214124
end:vcard
