"Samurai Jack" is an American creation, from Genndy Tartakovsky of "Dexter's Laboratory" fame. Just read that last night in a book I got out of the El Segundo library...

Genndy Tartakovsky is also the same guy behind the Star Wars - Clone Wars animated shorts that Cartoon netowrk has recently been playing the second half of. I'm sure that has been taking up quite a bit of his time and why Samurai Jack may have been put on the back burner. Heck. Adult Swim has had Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Sealab 2021 in reruns for quite a while now.
Which reminds me Harvey Birdman starts a new season this Sunday. Woo!

The book is called "Makin' Toons." There's quite a bit of information about a lot of the contemporary 'toon hits that have come down the pike in the last few years, both on the big and small screen.

umm, I heard VIZ will release some new episodes of Inuyasha beginning of MAY, which is nice because there are over two hundred episodes, as well as 4 movies!
Did anyone see/watch Rorouni Kenshin? I can't figure out where they got a redhaired samurai but what the hell

It pisses me off that there are 200+ episodes of Inuyasha out there and the fucking Cartoon Network just keeps running the same 20 fucking episodes over and over again until the fucking end of time...

I've noticed the same thing with "Samurai Jack" on Cartoon Network. I keep seeing the same episodes over and over. It's understandable that new animation takes a while to produce, but with pre-existing material, the only hold-ups I could think of would be dubbing/subtitling Japanese into English or a hold-up in acquiring broadcast rights.

I'm sure it's the latter. I guess they could only afford the first 2 seasons.

Nope, I have heard of it. Kiddy Grade looks mildly interesting. I'm not sure if it is my type of Anime or not though.

Anyone into Marvel comics fan stuff? Or superheroes as a group?

I've been following the comic "30 Days of Night" which details the slaughter of the town of Barrow, Alaska by a pack of vampires. They discover the town has no sunlight for an extended period, and the followup afterwards. Quite interesting.

Yeah, I'll definately have to check that out.

Fortunately, the best comic book shop in town is one block from my office... I'll have to wait until payday...

FYI: There is a Wolverine fan suit on eBay auction right now. Looks great, I don't have the money. I have to buy another computer and get a treadmill to get all the oh well, just plain fat removed. It's one of those wish things.

Someone mentioned Reagan's firing of the PATCO (Air Traffic Controllers) in a different room. I was just remembering the Bloom County spoof of that where the elves in Santas Workshop were fired. PETCO!!! That was a classic.

umm...Petco is a chain of pet-care stores out here in SoCal. Not to mention the name of the SD Padres' new ballpark... :)

(and for those who didn't see "Opus" yesterday...BILL IS BACK!)

Petco is a national chain, actually.  They have them here too.
