I like Opus, but I suspect that this latest entry has more to do with Berke Breathed being broke than with him having a desire to create again.

It's probably going to blow as bad as Outland did.

He claims he misses having a public voice. (I think he just ran out of money.)

Decidedly Live Action Sailor Moon is just as bad as the animation. 8')

*thinks* the only Live Action sailor moon i've seen is that bloody musical.
which i've got as an undubbed/unsubbed video. *twitch*

What I was watching was some asian girls (makes sense) doing normal things liek you would see in any teen show like Saved by the Bell or what not and then suddenly it turned into power rangers/ultra man with the girls getting animated transformation scenes. It was really really strange. Of course it was all in japanese so I didn;t understand what they were saying... but it seemed to follow the format of the cartoon pretty well.

Finally watched Spirited Away. Faaaar better than Princess Mononoke in terms of engaging storytelling, I think.
Tash is watching it one more time before we have to return it to the guy who lent it to us. :(

Ally, that's pretty much my sentiments... I didn;t think Mononoke had anyhitng to hold you to the story at all.

"Spirited Away" was best enjoyed on the big screen IMO. Thankfully they re-released it in wide distribution not long after it won its Oscar.

I agree as well. Mononoke I wasn't into that much.
Spirited Away was kinda cool...

What about Castle In The Sky?? How is that??

It's not anime, but I still need to get on e-bay
and score a copy of "Shaolin Soccer"!! I *really*
wanna check it out. I've heard it is really cool..

peace.zaphod.

Wow. I seem to be the only one who really couldn't get into Spirited Away. I watched that, and afterwards my first thought was 'What the **** did I just watch?' (And I rather liked Mononoke Hime also. Oh well.)

Whoever it was who asked about Castle in the Sky: If you have enjoyed other Miyazaki anime, you will probably enjoy this. It does fall into his 'cute' category, rather than his more mature stuff though. Depends I suppose on what your thoughts are on anime that is targeted at a much younger audience.

Spirited Away is REALLY f'ed up in terms of just the sheer imaginative sweep of it, but after watching it a second time, I really started to get it.

On Spirited Away I liked Princess Mononoke better. Then again I didn't like it as much the second time. The story I could get into with Mononoke. Still trying to wrap my head around the story for Spirited. (Was there one?) Haven't watched Spirited Away for the second time yet.

Worst live action I saw was a group of non asian men dressed as the sailor scouts! ewwwww (hairy legs and all)
