I saw Freakazoid occationally on Cartoon Network in the REALLY F'in early morning... I should search the schedule. Sorry fleeb I didn't catch that it was about Freakazoid the Dr. Smith thing. And I only vaguely remember the character. Which means I'm seriously lacking on my Freakazoid.

I didn't look at the credits... that's even more brilliant! And thanks for the character's name.

Oh... heh, I didn't quite catch that you might have been thinking of the other comic series.

Hmmm... I wonder if one can find a Freakazoid DVD or something...

Not that this is legal or anything... but head over to

I know once I get my new computer I will likely be taking advantage of their archives.

So, has anyone out there seen 'Wolf's Rain'? I saw the first ep Sunday night. Gonna try to watch 2-4 tonight (though my sound's 16 seconds early on ep 2. That makes it annoying) I don't think I've ever seen any anime quite like this one. I'm thinking this may definitely wind up in my favorites list very soon. Anyone else?

Has anyone heard that: Duck Dodgers is going to have his own series on cartoon network...

That could either be really, really good, or exceptionally bad.

More than likely, very bad.

Yeah, I saw that commercial last night.
I'm with fleeb on this one.

Adam saw Teen Titans and he couldn't tell if he liked it or not. Heh.

Subject: Big O Season 2

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I'm stoked. The long awaited second season of Big O is on Cartoon Network. Tonight's episode is called Negotiation With The Dead. It takes off where Roger is fighting the other Megadeuses that emerge from the sea. I'm so glad that Bandai finally got off there collective asses and made the second season. I guess all the fan sites, discussion groups, and sales of the collectible toy and the first season on DVD really paid off. Now if they'd just come out with some other toys for it.

I found a Big O toy at Toys-r-US and it is pretty cool. I never thought I would have found it there...

has anyone seen where you can buy any Freakazoid cartoons or toys...?

Actually, I would also be interested. I don't think I've seen an episode of Freakazoid that I didn't like. But, I've seen remarkably few of them.

I posted a URL that has the Freakazoid episodes avialable for download... but the problem with that is it's not legal. hehe

This is, perhaps, the best place I can think of to post this.

I just had this hysterical memory of a Bill Plimpton cartoon, involving a guy who loves to play practical jokes.

The specific scene I'm thinking of involves the practical joker sneaking into someone's bathroom, and exchanging the mark's facial razor for a chainsaw.

The next morning, the mark walks into the bathroom, bleary-eyed, and pulls out the chainsaw to shave his face. He pulls on the chain a few times to start it, and then the scene cuts to just outside the door, where you see the practical joker listening to the man's extreme pain as he tries to shave himself with the chainsaw.

Hysterical, in a kind of bizarre sort of way. Very Bill Plimpton-eque.

If I recall correctly, those were 'Plimp-toons' (Of course, it's very possible that I don't remember correctly, as I think they were quite a few years ago now)

It might have been... I don't recall. I stumbled into it online long time ago, and can no longer find it.

I saw a news report the other day that mentioned that Berkeley Breathed is going to be making a new comic featuring Opus. :->

I was never particularly fond of Opus, oddly enough. I felt he had more compelling characters in his Bloom County comic.

I'm enjoying going through them all in order again on Ucomics.

Opus always seemed like the straight man (bird), looking at what the world should be - he seemed to set up the gags rather than knock them down.
