I have the Cowboy Bebop Soundtrack. I also picked up the Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex OST here recently. It was very worth it.

I don't know if anyone posted this already, however, take a look at this link to The Big Apple Anime Fest (August 2003): http://www.bigappleanimefest.com

Augur: Interesting. Thanks for that link. Still doubt I could wind up going to an anime con this year though. (Ah, the joys of (lack of) money)

I sure did like The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen issues that I read.
Much good. Will probably ruin the movie for me. Whee.

I almost picked the GN up today, but I showed restraint and got Hellblacer and Authority instead.

Which Hellblazer?

Frozen over.

Only need two more and my GN Hellblazer collection is complete. I think I also have all the Authorities so far, I'm missing one or two Stormwatches, and I think 1 or 2 Transmo.

Freezes Over? Is that the prison one? Or the one with all those weird hicks?

Part of the Azzarello run, not my favorite, but there were some amusing bits.

The one after the hicks. I've got the prison one, I need to get the one with the hicks, I read it in b&n while getting my oil changed so I didn't buy it this run, maybe later next week I'll pick it up just to round out my collection.

Has anyone seen "Gary the Rat" or "Striperella"

I have, the animation is low grade on gary the rat, but the fact that it;'s a giant rat lawyer voiced by Kelsy Grammer(sp) is pretty funny by itself. The last episode I saw was some pretty predictable dialog, and repeating gags. But it;s an interesting watch. Stipperellas animation is better more comicbook style close to the speilburg presents warner toons including Pinky & the Brain and The Animaniacs. The dialog is incredibly bad, but I think that's the point. Similar gags to Freakazoid if you ever saw that show... I would bet money that some of the crew is the same. Overall both are worth watching later in the evening, nice lull the briain to sleep no thinking involved material.

Icabob, yes I have seen Freakazoid. I love it, I wish they would bring it back and put out toys for it also.

It is a stroke of genious that someone chose to template a cartoon character out of Dr. Smith from Lost In Space.

Ink... d on the end of my handle... 8'P And I too wish that Freakzoid would live on... one of my all-time favorite cartoons. I think Freakazoid as well as Pinky & The Brain/Animaniacs would make great DVD fare.

fleeb, are you saying that Gary the Rat == Dr. Smith?

I think you can still catch Freakazoid on somewhere..maybe the cartoon network?

Icabod:

I don't think so, although I cannot remember the character's name. It's from Freakazoid, and I seem to recall that the character was a doctor in the series. He was always trying to get away from Freakazoid's bizarre adventures in some way.. very analogous to the Dr. Smith character. Also spoke with the same sort of voice.

It's more than just a mere resemblance -- the voice of Professor Jones is actually performed by Jonathan Harris, who played the original Dr. Smith!
